PostThu May 18, 2006 3:31 pm    Opening scene identities

Ok, this might sound weird but i don't care.

So yes, i have been studying the opening scene of ENT and also that of "In a mirror, darkly" and have been identifying the different Devices that are shown on it, especially the Mirror universe one is interesting and a couple of things shown there are yet to be identified by myself. Try it yourself, and you might enjoy doing it. I actually have a dad that knows a lot of planes so he could identify a couple of planes that are shown.

Therei s probably osme sit that identifies them all, but i wanted too figure them out myself.

Anyways here is a list of things shown in every scene and what i have identified it as, Debate my results as you like and fill in the unidentifieds:

"In a mirror, darkly":
1. A raft with a sail, no ID
2. didn't find any records of a galleon that existed with this name.
3. a "Nieuport" fighter
4. another "Nieuport" fighter being shot.
5. The tank at the right is without ID, can't find any tank with such a barrel, the plane in the air is also unidentified, probably another "Nieuport"
6. unidentified AT gun
7. Flamethrower and unidentified tank
8. maybe P-51's or Corsairs
9. F-15 eagle
10. unidentified Submarine, probably CGI and fictional
11.Yet another unidentfied tank.
12. Rack of Surface to Air missiles probably SA-17
13. aircraft probably a MIG-23
14. a B-1 lancer doing a carpet bombing
15. the Apollo 11 taking off
16. Unidentified space shuttle
17. The Phoenix on its first warp flight
18. Unidentified ship attacking surface
19. The Enterprise NX-01 attacking with 2 other unidentified ships
20. Klingon Warbird
21. Unidentified shpi destroyed by Enterprise
22. An entire squadron of ships, all except Enterprise unidentified, maybe 1 Vulcan?

ENT:

1. sail boat
2. Galleon
3. Weather balloon?
4. RYAN NYP, Spirit of St. Louis
5. Space Shuttle OV-101 Enterprise
6. person with an unidentified plane
7. Wright Glider
8. Bell X-1
9. MIR submercible?
10. Unidentified plane behind man.
11. Apollo 11
12. Another Space shuttle, unidentified. Probably Enterprise
13. Unidentified Space shuttle
14. Apollo moon lander
15. Mars exploration rover
16. the space station MIR being build.
17. Lockheed Martin X-33
18. The phoenix, an ex-Titan V nuclear missile
19. Unidentified Spaceship.
20. The Enterprise NX-01

Am i crazy or what?

That's in the normal one to, Commentary says it's a Viking Raft
2. didn't find any records of a galleon that existed with this name.
Probably the same as the one in the 'normal' credits, remember, the MU is supposed to be similar, with a twist on events
3. a "Nieuport" fighter
4. another "Nieuport" fighter being shot.
5. The tank at the right is without ID, can't find any tank with such a barrel, the plane in the air is also unidentified, probably another "Nieuport"
6. unidentified AT gun
7. Flamethrower and unidentified tank
8. maybe P-51's or Corsairs
9. F-15 eagle
10. unidentified Submarine, probably CGI and fictional
The one that's blowing up? Commentary says it's footage from 'the hunt for red october'
11.Yet another unidentfied tank.
12. Rack of Surface to Air missiles probably SA-17
13. aircraft probably a MIG-23
14. a B-1 lancer doing a carpet bombing
15. the Apollo 11 taking off
16. Unidentified space shuttle
Could very well be Enterprise if it's an OV series (Has been a bit sense I watched the opening sequence..)
17. The Phoenix on its first warp flight
18. Unidentified ship attacking surface
19. The Enterprise NX-01 attacking with 2 other unidentified ships
A dicpitation of a fight with Xindi I belive
20. Klingon Warbird
21. Unidentified shpi destroyed by Enterprise
This could have been the Xindi one instead of number 19, not to sure
22. An entire squadron of ships, all except Enterprise unidentified, maybe 1 Vulcan?
I belive it was said that they were attcking Tholian ships (Fiting for the plot of the first part)

ENT:

1. sail boat
HMS Enterprise I think, could be wrong...
2. Galleon
3. Weather balloon?
4. RYAN NYP, Spirit of St. Louis
5. Space Shuttle OV-101 Enterprise
6. person with an unidentified plane
7. Wright Glider
8. Bell X-1
9. MIR submercible?
10. Unidentified plane behind man.
11. Apollo 11
12. Another Space shuttle, unidentified. Probably Enterprise
13. Unidentified Space shuttle
14. Apollo moon lander
15. Mars exploration rover
16. the space station MIR being build.
17. Lockheed Martin X-33
18. The phoenix, an ex-Titan V nuclear missile
19. Unidentified Spaceship.
Speculation says it's one of the classes right before the NX, possibly an Interepid type
20. The Enterprise NX-01

Am i crazy or what?

I hope this helps at all, I will go back and look at the openings again, see if I can figure anything out

[Edit]
Some sources are saying it's from the movie U-571 (The exploding subermine)

Isn't the space station the International Space Station? That would seem to make more sense than MIR.

I've built a model of the ISS three times, and seen the first three seasons of Enterprise, it IS The Internation Space Station, NO doubt in my mind.
