House Rejects Timetable for Troop Withdrawal From Iraq

WASHINGTON House lawmakers rejected a timetable to withdraw U.S. forces from Iraq on Friday in a Republican push to put war positions on the record.

This is good news, but it's not unexpected. I'm overjoyed that the Republicans are doing what they should have been doing for a long time--putting the Democrats on the record. I mean, putting Democrats on the record for wanting a pullout call and not supporting the commander in chief and the troops...That's a brilliant idea.. Why? Because doing it hurts the Democrats that opposed the measure. It is political suicide, and I'm glad the House stood up and did what they had to do.

Btw, the Bill Title is "Declaring that the United States will prevail in the Global War on Terror, the struggle to protect freedom from the terrorist adversary." 149 Democrats and 3 Republicans voted Nay; the rest abstained or voted for it.

I don't see why certain people can't understand the simple concept that the sequence of events can be overwhelmingly more important than the timeline.

Same here. I just don't get why so many people, particularly on the left, can't see that what's actually happening in Iraq is better than an artificial timetable, and more important. Even Hillary Clinton recognizes this, but of course the far-left has to boo her when she says it, as they did at the Take America Back event this past week
