This has been copyrighted and i am entering it for Strange New Worlds X.
Lieutenant Kathryn Janeway watched from the Al-Batani's bridge in horror as the away teams phasers imploded in magenta haze. Tom Paris looked down at the conn. And on the alien conning spire, Commander Chakotay stared into the compound eye of Teraor. He tapped his commbage. "Chakotay to Voyager" and knew there would be no answer...
