Query about Star Trek comics published by DC (1984-1996)

Is there anyone here who collected any of the Star Trek comics published by DC Comics from 1984-1996?

If so, please can you respond. I used to collect loads, but right now, I'm not sure where they are (a lot of stuff I've bought over the years is stored in boxes in various places in my home). There's just a couple of questions I have, regarding them. If you can't help, then I guess I'll just have to dig out those boxes.

Please only respond if you did collect the title (including the TNG comic which DC published). If anyone here has a few which they can look at, I just want to ask a few questions (in particular, I'm looking for the names of the editors of the various Trek comics, but I have other queries as well).

I `ve got some of the old Dc tng ones...at the moment ive got all from numbers 1-25,and then from 62-80(the last one in that DC run).Busy negotiating with someone who has the rest and that should go through in the next few weeks....but in the meanwhile if theres anything about those i can maybe help with,sure.Ive just paged through them really,having gotten it recently from a buddy but i really enjoyed what ive read so far.

(Now if only,just only i could find the Ds9 ones.I really.REALLY want those.I guess theres always Ebay but..im not in the mood to get a credit card and i doubt anyone would be willing to ship to me..im not exactly located in the first world.Meh,gotta scour some more dark comic shops around here.)

First of all, thank you for the link.

I only have several dozen, but I still can't find them (I had another look today). I have three questions, regarding the comic books.

1.) What are the names of the editors over the 136 issues? I'm sure there were more than one, and I'd appreciate some names. I know Alan Gold edited the Original Series comic books for a while.

2.) What are the names of the editors for the TNG comics?

3.) What was the name of the letters pages for the Original Series and TNG comics?

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Ok,about the questions,sorry,flipping through a few issues....refreshing memory again ( got them recently so i dont have these things
memorized :p)

1) Well,from what i can tell,the first issues (from 1-25
wich i got) for the DC TNG run,the Editor was Robert
Greenberger.And then from 62-80 ones wich i got the
Editor was Margeret clark.I`ll have to wait till i get
the others to see if there was someone in between
though.Dont have TOS ones though,

2) Hmmm,from details at the back,for the TNG 1-80 DC run
the editors and high level staff guys and girls were
(just copying what it says at the back on the letters
page,for a later issue 62)

3) I unfortunately dont have any TOS ones (except a
graphic novel floating around somewhere) but for the DC
TNG ones the letters page was called "Starfleet
confidential"

Dunno if that was much help,let me know if theres anything else .i really love the comics too,from the few ive had time to read so far the artwork is good though it varies from early to late(some of it looks a bit different but i cant even draw a stickman so im the last to judge),and the stories are nice,i mean,im not that emotional in general ,but one or two frames in some stories had me close to tears .And yeah i agree with the freedom,a lot of the aliens and stuff in there could never have featured in the live action shows with budget constraints.

The ds9 ones i`m looking for are by Malibu comics..theres probably a marvel or DC few too somewhere but i just go by plots and i feel some of these would make real good reads...although like the other series one you get the odd "huh ?!" one,like the one with the....deadly mold or somesuch.

Just came across whilst googling wich might be a handy link ,showing the exact numbers of released comics by each publisher and links to the covers and such....perfect to admire or,if your me,cry at the ds9 ones and the lack of being able to find them. I think it was a case of yeah,your right,from searching they got good reviews so either they were too popular and snapped up,or underprinted .

Ive never heard of Gold key before but im not a big collector,so not too clued up, nor was i a big comic reader...just a few marvel,and DC and Dark horse ones here and there (the Star wars ones are nice by the latter) but ive started again recently as i got a real annoying reading problem thats developed and atm i find them the easiest to read other than trek novels...and the most entertaining.

Also,have you seen the Mad magazine Star trek spoofs ? I loved those . I know the former probably doesnt qualify as a real comic but...still.Also its interesting to see how the artwork changes over time and the comic contents.From issue 1 and compare issue 80 wich almost has more gaming ads than comic pages.

As for the companies ,Marvel and such`s relationship with paramount,i guess Activision had the same thing when it came to gaming.They wanted to be more creative than paramount itself was being,i guess.*shrug*
