Story:
The Alpha and Beta quadrants lay in ruin after costly battles with two of the deadliest foes to grace the Alpha quadrant: the Borg and the Dominion.





Many lives were lost and for the first time since it's formation, the Federation began to build ships built for war, like the USS Defiant.



With loss after loss from within each empire, Federation-Klingon-Romulan alike, each side grew desperate. Unity that had not been seen in the galaxy for some time was made.



The empires united to push the invaders out of their space and won their freedom. Unfortunetly, the cost was monumentally high. Each side sits within their own space licking their wounds.



The Federation council, in conjunction with the Klingon and Romulan empires, have agreed that any animosity between the three empires will be put aside while the reconstruction is going on.



The Dominion and the Borg are also recovering from the wars. The Borg haven't been heard from, for some time, minus comminiques from the USS Voyager in the Delta Quadrant. The Founders, leaders of the Dominion, had been given a disease by the shadowy organization, S31.



This contributed the end of the Dominion War. Odo returned to the Great Link and cured his people, vowing to teach them tolerance and peace.



One year after the dissaperance of station commander Benjamin Sisko, Starfleet wishes to attempt exploration once more. They have contacted representatives in the Gamma quadrant and another treaty was signed.



Exploration into the Gamma quadrant will be allowed as long as it does not interefere in Dominion politics. The Cardassians, realing from the losses in the war, assisted in developing the treaty. In exhange, the Federation will allow Dominion ships, heavily regulated, to enter the Alpha quadrant for exploration. The Dominion will only allow one ship to cross to the other side....that ship...has been chosen...

6) Please do not use asteriks to define action. For example *Runs to the turbolift*. Just put "(Insert character name) runs to the turbolift."
7) Please use quotation marks when someone is speaking. It is a lot easier to differentiate thought from speaking if you use quotation marks. It doesn't need to be perfect English or anything, just something easy for everyone to read. When you post, try and consider if the other posters can make sense of it.
8) Please use italics for telepathy and non-face-to-face communications. Including combadge use. Please no more of the =/\= stuff. Thoughts should be depicted by the underline symbol.
9) Do not use emoticons please. Not that anyone should need it...
10) Please refrain from making one liner posts such as "Aye sir." and thats it. I'm not asking for a huge paragraph, but try and write "Aye sir". (Insert character name here) goes to the station and carries out the order.

He was a Captain by the Dominion war and saw action at the border on several different ships. Thanks to his Service, he was given command of the Ark Royal, a Sovereign class starship assigned to explore the Gamma Quadrant.

Bio: Born on Cardassia to a wealthy family. Served as a Glinn during the Occupation of Bajor. Once the Occupation ended, he gained command of a starship and promoted to Gul. During the Cardassian-Klingon war, he led a Cardassian fleet to protect a Cardassian colony from the Klingons. Once Cardassia joined the Dominion, he was made liaison to the Dominion in the Gamma quadrant. Jolar helped oversaw the construction of the Dominion fleet that mysteriously disappeared inside of the wormhole. He returned to Cardassia in disgrace and a demotion after serving in the Gamma for two years. The war ended, with entire family's death, at the hands of the Dominion. The Federation negotiated a treaty with the Dominion. Cardassia assisted the Federation in the creation of the treaty and offered an officer to lead the crew in the Gamma quadrant. Jolar was that officer. Much to his annoyance, he was given a provisional rank of commander. He was made first officer of the Ark Royal.

Bio: Eldryna grew up on the Homeworld. Daughter of Jeyin Denzi, a human science officer, and S�Daia, a Starfleet ambassador to the Klingon empire. S�Daia was an outcast, and kept her daughter close to her, for fear of losing her. She and Jeyin�s marriage fell apart early on, and Jeyin was forced to leave his wife and daughter for a new assignment. Dryna was well-versed in science from her mother, a bright student who spent her youth trying to keep from underfoot in the embassies. When she was 13, S�Daia was killed by the house of Kodran and she was left on the streets of Qo�noS to fend for herself. She found refuge with a doctor, Vodor, who offered her to work for her keep. Strengthened by the experience, Dryna soon found her niche in medicine. Vodor helped her get into Starfleet where her mother and father had both served, and she flew through medical school with great vigor. This is her first assignment, and she has yet to find her true self. She has recently begun speaking with her father again, a journey unto itself.

He joined Starfleet academy at 16 as to become a Tactical or Security officer but as he progressed in the academy his skills as an engineer were evident and was soon convinced to change his studies. After Graduation he dissapeard for a year, nobody knows where, he refuses to speak about it. When Mitchell came back he served aboard the U.S.S. Endevor, where he served as an Engineer and a Security officer. He was later promoted to Lieutenant and giving an assignment to work under Miles O'Brien on Deep Space Nine, his long time mentor. Ever since then Mitchell has been the Chief Engineer aboard the U.S.S. Richard until it was destroyed. Has recently been transferred to the U.S.S. Royal Ark.

Bio: Born on Earth from a human and a Bajoran, Victoria lived a normal life. Her father, a human, was the First Officer of the U.S.S. Firestarter, a military vessel charged with the protection of the Mars Colony. Her father was a well-to-do man, very responsible, and willing to make changes. Because her father spent most of his time aboard the Firestarter, Victoria and her mother moved from London, England, on Earth, to the Mars Colony, to be closer to her father. Sadly, Victoria's father was killed during the Battle of Wolf 359, the invasion of Earth by the Borg, led by Locutus. Victoria was about 21 at the time; at Starfleet Academy. She took the news of her fathers death well, as she barely saw him, even while living on the Mars Colony. However, on the inside, she looked up to her father and missed him very much. This only helped her strive towards her goal; to join Starfleet (her father had inspired her to do so; her mother, a civilian doctor, helped Victoria reach her goal; to become a doctor in Starfleet). Victoria's mother, a Bajoran woman, was a civilian doctor. Her father had met her mother while on a mission to Deep Space Nine, where her mother used to live (serving as a civilian doctor). They fell in love and had Victoria. Victoria's mother was a caring, but determined and strong woman. She had a strong sense of who she was; a Bajoran. This same "belief" carried on to Victoria, who also believes strongly in her heritage. Victoria's mother had died recently, about two years ago, of a heart attack; something that was uncommon in the 24th Century. This dealt a heavy blow to Victoria, as her mother was her biggest role-model. Eventually, Victoria did managed to graduate from Starfleet, with honors, and became a Nurse on the Enterprise-E. After the events of Star Trek: Insurrection, Victoria was transferred to the new ship, as Chief Medical Officer (Victoria had shown great promise during the First Contact and Insurrection Incidents, Victoria had proved to be an excellent doctor). Victoria is a strong, beautiful woman, who believes strongly in her Bajoran heritage. She is also a superb doctor.

Season One: Episode One: Burning Bridges



Captain's Log:

There are people adding final touches to the Ark Royal, the new Sovereign-Class Starship about to enter service


Stardate 53042.78: Captain Takeshi Yamada reporting. I have arrived at my new post, a Soveregn class starship, named 'Ark Royal'. She's a beauty, and is uncompleated, it will be several weeks before we actually launch, but the ship is habital, and the crew selected. I have decided to have the crew come on early, and get used to the ship, and to each other. It has been a while sense I have been on a starship of this power, but now the Dominion war is over, and the reconstruction across the Alpha Quadrant has begun, starfleet has returned to the mission of principle: Exploration. Our mission, is an interesting one. We'll be venturing into Dominion strong hold, the Gamma Quadrant. I'm a bit curious as to why I was chose for this command, there are other captains who have seen the Gamma more then I have. Here's more news: I have been informed my First Officer will be a Cardassian. I do not yet know the name, but understand that he was a loyal Gul in the Union, who did not take the near collasp of Cardassia lightly. Who can blame him?...

Takeshi Yamada sighed as he looked out the viewport of his readyroom. He could see several workbees fly past and work on the ship.

Several more weeks of work left... he said to him self in his mind. He was waiting word from his new senior staff, but mostly his new Counselor, Aleia Madre. He knew her from a past posting, during the war, and had not seen her for several months. He was glad she had accepted this posting, he was able to confide in her, not just as a Captain/Officer to a Counselor/Officer, but as a friend. He chuckled at the thought and went to the Replicator. "Tea, Red Rose, Hot" The computer chirped and a steaming cup appeard. Takeshi took the cup and went back to the window and stared out, watching the people at work. After several minutes and sips of tea later, Takeshi turned to his desk and sat down, turning on the screen, reading for perhaps the millionth time, the mission overview of the Ark Royal. Takeshi let out a soft grunt when ever he saw the part of a new treaty with the Dominion that allowed mutual exploration of the native quadrants of both sides. At least we have a ship of power...

USS Ark Royal

Aleia Madre stepped into the coordiors of the USS Ark Royal, her eyes turning around on the walls and the inset lighting. She smiled. The lighting was dim enough that it would create a sense of safety but it still kept the area looking professional.

A sigh escaped Aleia's lips. She overanalyzed everything it seemed, ever since she got a job as a counselor. She worries about everything being a certain way... zen so to speak.

With a quick nod to a passing officer, she headed down the hallway, heading to her quarters. Her quarters were down the hall and on the left hand side.

The doors slid open to her quarters and she stepped in. The lights flickered on as she moved and she nodded in approval.

"At least the quarters aren't all red." She smirked, remembering a ship she had been stationed on a few years prior. "Red... the worst color to stick on any confined area. Makes people violent." She set some of her things down and smiled to herself. "I'm talking to myself again."

After a few hours, her room was settled and she moved out of her room, down the hall to a turbolift where she called for the bridge. Once on the bridge, she crossed and headed to the Captain's ready room. She hit the chime and waited patiently...

Takeshi was snaped out of his trance of staring at the screen. He shook his head and stood up and straitened his Uniform and looked to the door. "Enter"

Aleia stepped into the room as the doors slid open. She smiled quickly at the man behind the desk and saluted quickly.

"Aleia Madre reporting for duty, sir."

Takeshi smiled at the sight of who entered the room. "Welcome aboard Aleia...it's been to long." Takeshi walked around the desk and stood infront of her and smiled again. He held out a hand.

Aleia smiled and shook his head quickly.

"It has been a while, Captain. Look at you now... Captain of this wonderful vessel. I remember when I first saw you." She turned her eyes around the room.

Takeshi smiled again and nodded. "I can remember when I first saw you to, although..." Takeshi looked at her rank pips. "You didn't have as many of those, congradulations, how ever belated it is." Takeshi gestured to the replicator. "Can I get you anything?"

[Ziona]

Aleia smiled and nodded.

"Yes I have come a long way. And you know what I like, Takeshi. Tea as usual. Whatever it is that you're drinking right now smells good."

She turned and moved around the ready room, looking at all the various items up on the walls.

"Yea... I got promoted up just a few months ago. And as soon as I heard about this ship, I coudn't help but apply."

Takeshi went to the replicator and ordered Aleia a Red Rose tea of her own. He came back with the cup and handed it to her. He gestured to a chair. "Please, make your self comfortable." Takeshi went to his chair behind the desk and sat down.

[Ziona]

Aleia sat down in the chair and settled back, taking a sip of her tea. She smiled quickly.

"Perfect... as usual." A sigh left her lips. "So, how did you manage to get hold of this lovely vessel?"

[Lord Borg]

Takeshi sighed slightly and looked around the room, then back to Aleia. "I actually have no idea, I think it was something I did in the war." Takeshi looked down at the desk. May as well get it out of the way he thought. "I suppose you heard about Su Li...." Su Li was his 'daughter' who had died recently of an accident on earth. Takeshi had never gotton compleatly over it, and had been raising her alone.

[Ziona]

Aleia nodded and sighed sadly.

"Yes, I heard about that. I am sorry for your lose."

A silence fell over the room. There was a silence that was pretty thick.

"If there's anything I can do, Takeshi." She learned towards him slightly in her chair. "I am here if you need anything."

[Lord Borg]

Takeshi nodded. "Thank you, your a good friend." He looked at Aleia and smiled again. "Have you had a change to take a look at our mission profile?"

[Ziona]

She sook her head.

"Unfortunately, no. I was too busy taking care of a few things before I left... I few patients I had to tie up loose ends with before I left."

She held her cup between her hands, enjoying the warmth.

"I feel sort of bad not knowing the mission as we go into it, but I can take a look at it later tonight in my quarters."

[Lord Borg]

Takeshi nodded. "Not alot to it, other then going into Dominion held teritory only a couple months after we forced them back into the Gamma Quadrant." Takeshi winked at Aleia, trying to lightenthe mood. "You may have your hand's full" he joked.

[Ziona]

Aleia laughed lightly.

"Yes, well... I have my own personal inspiration to keep going on this mission." She smiled quickly at Takeshi. "I'm sure we'll do fine."

[Founder]

-Cardassia, Lakarian City-

Jolar Nel walked around the ruins of a once great city on Cardassia. Bajoran and Starfleet relief workers were everywhere, helping Cardassians. Jolar stood on the roof of a building that was not fully intact. A building he was raised in as a child. Infrastructure falling apart due to an orbital bombardment courtesy of the Dominion. He kicked a piece of debris off of the roof. It clanged loudly on the floor and a Bajoran looked up in surprise. He looked away and stared at the rising sun in the distance. He hated Bajorans so much. They no doubt were enjoying the way Cardassia looked. Poetic justice. Jolar Nel groaned and sat at the edge of the roof. He looked down at his Cardassian uniform and knew it would be the last time he would wear it, for a while at least. Due to the provisional rank and position he was given, Starfleet rules stated he had to be in a Starfleet uniform. He was not looking forward to that at all. Jolar didn't want to work for Starfleet, but he was loyal to the state. He would do anything for Cardassia, including helping Starfleet. Jolar took a swig from a bottle of Kanar in his hands. He sighed and was glad that at least the Gamma quadrant expedition was going to only last two months, then he could come back to Cardassia for shore leave.

"At least it won't last long..." He muttered.

[Lord Borg]

Takeshi nodded. "I'm sure we will. Say, have you ever been on a Sovereign class starship before?"

[Ziona]

Aleia simply shook her head.

"Unfortunately not. Everything else, but not a Sovereign."

She took another sip of tea and her mind wandered to her young daughter who was staying with her sister down on Earth. She focused back in on the conversation.

[Lord Borg]

Takeshi nodded, and stood. "We have some time before the other staff starts checking in, would you like a tour?" Takeshi straitned his uniform and let his eyes briefly wondered to the viewport where he could see people working on the ship.

[Ziona]

Aleia nodded.

"That would definately be nice." She motioned to the cup. "Am I allowed to drink and walk at the same time?" She smirked.

Several Days Ago...Aboard the USS Enterprise-E




Victoria Renvar took one last look around the Bridge of the USS Enterprise-E, her former vessel. Victoria had recently been promoted from Head Nurse aboard the Enterprise to Chief Medical Officer aboard the new exploratory vessel, the USS Ark Royal, the ship charged with the task of investigating the Dominion-controlled Gamma Quadrant...a dangerous task, indeed.

As Victoria surveyed the Bridge, her eyes swelled with tears...The Enterprise held so many memories...both good and bad. Victoria could vividly remember the Borg incident...so many lives lost; assimilated by the foul Borg. Victoria could remember her last mission aboard the Enterprise...the one at Ba'ku. Victoria couldn't believe, that after four years aboard the ship...she will be leaving.

"Goodbyes are tough..." Victoria thought to herself, wiping a tear from her eye with the back of her teal uniform. Victoria put on weak smile. "Things will get better..." Victoira nodded, trying to be optimistic. "I get to serve aboard the USS Ark Royal! I get to see places that no one in the Federation had ever seen before...This is a blessing...bestowed upon me by the Prophets."

Victoria nodded. She bowed her head and turned away from the empty Bridge. Looking towards the floor, Victoria exited the Bridge, into the Turbolift.

The shiny Turbolift doors closed behind her...along with the Bridge of the Enterprise. Victoria stood against the far wall of the Turbolift, arms crossed, with a grim expression on her face. She was lost in memories...memories of the Enterprise.

Suddenly, Victoria's head perked up.

"Beverly!"

Victoria looked towards the ceiling.

"Computer? Take me to Sick Bay." Victoria ordered. As the Turbolift lurched into motion, Victoria stared into nothingness, with a look of happiness on her face.

"I need to visit the Doctor before I leave..."


Enterprise-E, Sick Bay

Victoria stood before Doctor Beverly Crusher, in her office, in Sick Bay. Beverly sat before her oaken desk, her hands folded in her lap, her long red hair resting on her shoulders. Beverly was as beautiful as ever. Victoria could sense the aura Beverly let off...one of happiness and friendship.

"I wil miss you very much, Beverly." Victoria said, holding back tears. She stood in front of the Doctor, who looked equally as sad. "You were my role model...my inspiration..." Victoria paused, stifling a sob. "I hope I can be as good a doctor as you when I am aboard the Ark Royal...I want to be just as inspiring as you...if I can-"

Beverly stood up from behind her desk. She walked over to Victoria, who was facing the floor, and put her hands on her shoulders.

"Look at me." Beverly commanded, lifting Victoria's chin, her eyes, slowly, looking into Beverly's. "You'll be fine...just do your best..." Victoria opened her mouth to speak, but Beverly just shook her head. "You are one of the best nurses I have ever had...you will be just great." Victoria nodded. She stepped back.

"Thank you, Beverly..." Victoria said, her voice quiet. "You...have been like a sister to me..." Victoria turned to leave. "Goodbye, Doctor."

"Goodbye...Victoria." Beverly replied. Victoria left...

Deep Space Nine, Corridor

From the window aboard Deep Space Nine, Victoria took one last look at the Enterprise-E. The spaceship's sleek, metallic frame, shone in the bright lights of Deep Space Nine. The ship looked more magnificent than ever.

Victoria raised a hand to the window.

"Goodbye..." Victoria whispered, her voice dead-quiet.

A Few Days Later...Aboard the USS Ark Royal

Victoria entered the USS Ark Royal.

A new story had begun...
