I just got back from King Kong and all I can say is WOW!
Have you seen this movie? It's awesome! Peter Jackson really outdid himself in this one. Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith are top contendors for first, but regardless I'd have to say that there is a chance that this is in the top ten of the best movies ever...
Star Wars movies, LOTOR movies, and King Kong are likely in the top ten (definitely SW, which is still the best).
Have you seen it? If so, what are your thoughts? If you haven't seen it, SEE IT! Best...Christmas...movie...ever!

I'll probably be seeing this over break. I'm not really all that interested, but I'd rather go see it in the theatre, than rent it.

Trust me. You may not be interested, but it keeps you on your seat the entire time (after the beginning, of course) and is 3 hours of fantastic action, graphics, a well-done movie, good acting, a good plot, and all the other things in a good movie. Trust me. It's well worth it. You'll be coming back on to STV after seeing it sharing how much you liked it

I'm thinking of seeing it with mum. It looks like the end might make me cry, because really it's kinda like Romeo and Juliet... only the Montagues are more the Monkeygues.

My dad said that it was by far the best of the three...I haven't seen the other two, but even then I can vouch for it...The effects and everything were just great.

I would have to say that King Kong is the worst good movie I've ever seen. The special effects, acting and story line were really good. But I think the movie was too long, especially on the island. To me, there were two really intesne parts which they could have toned down: the scene when they first "meet" the natives, and the scene where they fall in to the valley with all the bugs on steriods. I personally think that many of the intense scenes were overdone. But I did like the cast, especially Jack Black's character. So I really have no desire to see the movie again. But I do think that it's overall a good movie.

I saw it, it was very touching. Lots of horror which i like nd a good representation of he monkey. Oh, and the Empire states building rules!

Monster said it perfectly for me. It dragged in way too many scenes. It was a good movie, but bad at the same time if that makes sense. At first I thought it was just me, but I saw article on Yahoo News about it. They were saying the exact same thing I was. They should have cut a lot of the getting to the island stuff. Honestly? Its rare for me to look at the exit during a movie. But I did at least 3 times. Not good at all. This movie was certainly no ROTS.

Really? All I thought about about when it was going to end was in the context of when I could go to the bathroom

I don't like leaving movies that I haven't seen before for the bathroom.
I never took my eyes off the movie at all. Sure, perhaps some of the ship stuff could have been taken out, but I'm not adament towards that. I thought it filled up with all the stuff it needed to fill up.

Just saw this a few hours ago.

I have to say I just liked it "A Little." I didn't think it was bad, and I really didn't notice the length. But with that being said, some of the scenes were unnecessary. Like fighting the tyrannosaurs. Kong faught them for like 10 minutes on top of the cliff, 5 minutes on the vines inbetween, and then another 10 at the bottom of the cliff.... Getting a bit repetitive, there. And also, they decided that tyrannosaurs were most likely scavangers. Do a little research before you make a film, honestly. The natives were a little overdone and unrealistic. And it was odd how Jimmy just fell off the map.

A few years ago. I think I saw it on some boring NOVA special on PBS. Stuff comes up on google, too.

Based on the length of movie, I think they could have afforded cut a few unnecessary scenes. Afterall, that's apparently one of the main reasons behind people not wanting to see it.

And the giant tapeworm things eating the guy... that just wasn't called for,

Okay, this movie was sort of like Titanic. WAY PREDICTABLE. Lol.

I didn't enjoy it, actually, I despise it.....mainly because I have this friend...see, my last name is King, hers is Kong.

If yeh put two and two together..........yeah, laugh it up. You can imagine that we both got Hell and some because of this.....ironic coincidence....

Needless to say, I hate this movie. Before it came out, nobody had seemed to notice the humor in my last name and my friend's.

As much as I was determined to adore this movie beyond all else, it fell just short of the amazing impact that a PJ movie usually leaves on me...

Graphics, storyline, casting; all amazing! But at some point it just became tired... the action scenes went on for too long... and this is coming from someone who rates LotR, The Matrix and Die Hard in their top ten list so I'm no enemy of action sequences... it just dragged in places... they went to great trouble to emphasize the fact that Jimmy's character had been to the island before and then just dropped that point, and later on the character! The tyrannosaurus inaccuracies bothered me too... not least of which being that they don't tend to travel in groups and Kong was fighting what, 4 or 5? 6 even...

All that aside, I can't deny enjoying the movie immensely. I adored Jack Black's character to death... it was so great to see someone brave enough to cast him as a really serious character and then seeing him step up to the plate as an actor was just brilliant...

I mean I love PJ, and I went in to this movie determined to make it one of my favourites, but it just didn't make it... I appreciate that it was made by a huge fan and with great loving care...

It was ok I suppose. There were some places that definately should have been cut shorter. I also don't see how it got the great ratings it did...I mean it was ok, but wasn't thaaat good.

I see how they were that good. It had great directions, good dialogue, great graphics and effects, great acting, and sparked great excitement. It had everything needed in a good movie. I mean, in some respects (dialogue and acting) it was better than the Prequal trilogy of Star Wars--yet, of course, it's still behind SW.
