O.k..
this is a quote from another guy.
Although some of its is kinda harsh most of it has good advice in it..
I mean you made clear lots of stuff but maybe some of the things Night shadow mentioned might help? **shrugs**
One piece of advice from me is..
Goto a forums that has more 3d artist in it..
3d Gladiators, Sci Fi Mesh, Turbo Squid just to name a few..
Now don't take my reply as a bid to offer services, but lemme help you out here with a few questions:
What kind of ship is it you want built? Destroyer, frigate, science...?
How BIG are we talkin' here? Bigger than the Galaxy Class or smaller than the Defiant?
Are there any ships you've seen which have design elements that you want to be incorporated with this design?
Which era will this ship be inhabiting? ENT/TNG/DS9/VOY/TOS/MOV/NEM?
Y'see, it's all well and good to come here asking for help- you might even get lucky and find someone willing to take on the work (but, honestly, that's rare). But it helps YOU more if you are precisely certain of what you're looking for. Why? Because there is nothing in the world that an artist hates more than a client who can't make up their frickin' mind and starts making demands/changes in the middle of the project.
Here's what I suggest you think about doing:
Ask someone to render some images of a ship that's already modelled by someone else. Be sure to apply credits to the mesh's author, naturally. And then call it a day. You'll save yourself a *beep* of headaches that way, trust me. It's a helluva lot easier than asking for a brand-spankin'-new starship design- at charity rates, no less.
