PostTue Jan 31, 2006 3:34 pm    Winter Olympics TORINO

I enjoy watching many sports, particularly Rugby Union, Rugby League, Snooker, Boxing and Motor Sports. However, the Winter Olympics is what excites me the most. I don't know why, maybe it's because it's just so exciting, but I'm looking forward to it all. The competitors in various disciplines are all very talented.

Is anyone here looking forward to it? I'm not sure what event I enjoy the most. It's probably a toss-up between alpine skiing and snowboarding. Curling often provides a nice surprise or two. And I hope the United Kingdom can bring home a Gold Medal or two (or three, or four, or five...) What I can be sure of is that I'll be watching as much of it as I can.

If you have any thoughts on the forthcoming Winter Olympics, please post them here.

I'll watch the events in which they go very fast,

Mmm, and speed skating, some of the skiing, etc... Since the whole Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding thing, figure skating has just been... ack?

I have to admit, figure skating doesn't appeal to me. It never has. I've watched it in the past, but I got bored with it very quickly.

I don't really like the winter olympics, the only part I like to watch is when they fall over and hurt themselves. .

I like figure skating... though it brings out jealous feelings...

Bobsleigh is cool

Then I take it you've seen the 1993 movie, Cool Runnings.

I can't wait to see the U.S.'s Bobsled team hit the track. The era of American's using other countries disregarded sleds is over; the new American Bo-Dyn sleds are going to be hot.

I'd rather watch "The Factor" or "Hannity and Colmes."

That's interesting. I'm the opposite, I prefer the Winter Olympics to the Summer Olympics. Each to their own, I guess.

When is it? When when when? I have no television, I know nothing.

My favorite's watching the Ice Skating. I watch it just about every time the Winter Olympics come around. (Michelle Kwan loyalist, though I doubt she's in it again). I far prefer them to the Summer Olympics.

The opening ceremony takes place on 10th February. Someone else might be able to help you as far as TV airings are concerned.

Ha, I misread your post and thought it said, "Hopefully I'll go see it in prison in 2012..." Too bad I don't drink...

I'm going for the Czech Republic, since my ancestors are from there. But I'm ready! I'm going to do my homework and watch the olympics for 2 weeks. Oh, I can't wait.
