In a moment of idleness I downloaded BOINC (the Berkeley Open Infrastructure for Network Computing) and joined up for Climateprediction.net, Einstein@home, and Rosetta@home. I want to participate in SETI@home, but something seems to be wrong with their server at the moment. . . .

I've known about SETI@home for a while but never actually looked into it until recently. Then while listening to the radio about Stardust and the Stardust@Home project, it occurred to me to check these things out.

I have no clue if I'll actually let the program run enough to be worth it, but it is an interesting diversion for now.
