PostThu Dec 29, 2005 5:27 pm    Tragus Piercing

Hey folks!

My mom and I are talking about the both of us going and getting the tragus in one of our ears pierced. It's something I've always thought about doing, but then yesterday my mom was commenting on how she saw this lady with one yesterday and really liked it (mind you my mom is a kindergarten teacher... piercings aren't her thing, but she happened to like this one). Anyway, if she were to do it, i would totally do it too! I'm not one to go do something like this by myself.

Anyway, my question is do any of you have it done? If so, did it hurt much when you got it done? I have 10 piercings right now (1 belly button, 3 ear lobe piercings in each ear, and 3 cartiladge piercings (1 in one ear, 2 in the other)) and none of those hurt me at all when i got them done. Also for those who do have it done, do you like it now? To get it done, you have to get like a small barbell type thing, but afterwards you can put something cute in it like a gemstone stud of sorts. Below is a pic of what i want it to look like.

Hey, the sister of my boyfriend has one, and she has, just like you, a lot of piercings in her ears. She didn't find it any more painful than when she got one at the top of her ear.

She did have one comment; she wasn't careful when she put the earplug of her iPod into her ear,... that hurt! So, be careful with that.
I guess if you just keep it clean and don't touch during the day everything should be fine!

Cool that you're getting one, in the Netherlands is quite popular nowadays. Almost every girl has one.

One of my friends friend ( ) got it done and she said it was the one that hurt the most. Apparently the get a needle and stick it through the little bit and all that?

If you pierce something, it is always with a needle, nadia and, well, it's cartilage, so it hurts more than your earlobe...

No but this one is different. When I got all myne done it wasn't with a needle, it was with a gun. But my freinds friend said it was done with like the ones that they do your belly button with?!

In the Netherlands it isn't allowed with a gun, but some shops still do it. It's because of the cartilage; that has to be pierced, not shot with a gun. With a gun you have the risk that it will grow out, and you'll have a gap in that piece of your ear...
Exactly, it should be pierced, with a needle and all. Even if you want one in the top of your ear, it should be pierced, just because of the cartilage. And I agree with that.. there are just too many risks if you shoot it with a gun.
But did it go ok with yours? Did you have any trouble with it or not?

Nope, no trouble with getting it done with the gun.

Yeah I have mine done, it hurt like a BIATCH, but it was worse the next morning after I slept on it. I think they look really cool so if you get it done make sure you do it on the side that you don't sleep on, and then if you want to get your other one done, make sure you can sleep on the other side. I wound up taking mine out, because I couldn't take it anymore. Which is saying a lot because I have like 10 piercings in one ear.

yea, i'm expecting it to hurt. The one i was most terrified about was my belly button, and that was one i almost backed out of. It ended up feeling like nothing more than a quick pinch, and then it was over! The clamp hurt more than the needle going thru -- haha! It of course was sore for the next few days, but then it was fine. The pain is the only thing that scares me. I'll most likely go thru with it anyway... i'm not sure when thou

The belly button didn't hurt at all for me. Now what really hurts is the tongue piercing.... THAT HURTS.

^ You think?! Well, that proves that getting a piercing and the pain that comes with it is really personal!
My tounge piercing didn't hurt one bit. I had my bellybutton pierced 2 years after that, also not very painful. Then a year after that I got a piercing in my lip, WOW! Now that was painful! (anyways, took it out 5 months later cuz I didn't like it anymore.. )
So... We can tell you how it feels if we have a piercing, but we won't know if you'd feel the same! Anywayz, good luck with it!!

i just think its dangerous. Its cartilage so it could infect much easer then you earlobe. and if it got infected you can kiss your ear goodbye. It hurts a lot more then you can imagine.

My lip didn't hurt at all, and I too took it out about 6 months later, eyebrow didn't hurt either. Neither did nose, but tongue hurt.

I want to get my labret done so I can have a big lip ring but I want another two piercings in my ear so I can have a bar across it.

when I had my ear lobes done, it only hurt on one side, and that was because the gun jammed on my ear so that it was pinching my lobe very hard.
