Who commanded the station whilst all the senior staff were on the Defiant? Sometimes none of the senior staff were left behind... did they get Quark or Garak to run it?!

The senior staff are Alpha shift, for the most part. There are three shifts (four after "Starship Down"), so there are plenty of other experienced officers who just aren't on the senior staff. Of course, they always leave someone behind when there is potential for the station to be in trouble.

No one source. Just common sense that there must be junior officers available for when the senior officers are off duty, plus I've read all the DS9 books and seen many of the episodes.

Well, thanks, but I actually don't know THAT much. I just have a lot of general knowledge. If you were to ask me what year such-and-such occurred, I might not know.

Besides, even my fanfic doesn't come easily. No, writing isn't really my thing.
