PostWed Dec 07, 2005 12:29 am    'Resolutions'

You remember the ep. Resolutions when Janeway and Chakotay were stuck on a planet because they were bitten by a bug. What if Voyager didnt come back or at least didnt come back until a year later? I think Chakotay would've broken through her emotional walls and finally amitted that he loved her and she loved him dispite the fact that Mark waited or not (even though he didnt wait thank god!!!) And if know one seen it he kind of did tell her that he loved her but...you know.

Why....why.....why!?!

Chakotay....does not....love Janeway and vice versa.

*sigh* From the episode Shattered....

Janeway: "Mind if I ask you one last question?"
Chakotay: "Will I have to break the Temporal Prime Directive to answer it?"
Janeway: "Maybe just a little. For two people who started off as enemies, it seems we get to know each other pretty well. So I've been wondering - just how close do we get?"
Chakotay: "Let's just say, there are some barriers we never cross."
She holds out her hand and they shake hands warmly.
Janeway: "See you in the future."

Checkmate VOY fans...checkmate.

But who's to say he DIDN'T love her at one time. That was the Chakotay of the end of 7 years. Who's to say that a few years earlier he didn't? And the same for her. The doctor struck a hard note on Janeway when she was in love with Michael Sullivan from "Fair Haven" when he said she "can't" have a relationship with a member of her crew, because they're her subordinates. So, that might hint at her and Chakotay. Granted, alot of you might not see it that way, but it's a matter of perspective and how you look at what the doctor might have meant.

I think he would have. And the same for her. They were crossing a SERIOUS threshold if Tuvok hadn't returned, but he just couldn't have waited a few more weeks. Stupid Vulcans and their rotten sense of timing.

That has no bearing on the J/C case.......whatsoever......never cross UP TO THAT POINT......how do we know they didn't actually love each other sometime later on?? I mean...hellooooooooooooo....in Endgame, Admiral Janeway tells Cap J that Seven is going to die in the arms of her husband.....and when she says that it's Chakotay.....did you SEE that LOOK on Captain J's face????? It wasn't just sadness because of Seven.....jeez...

I will NEVER stop being a J/Cer...NEVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can shove quotes like the one you posted down my throat....but you can NEVER take....MY J/Cness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *evil cackle*

J/C so could've worked out, and you know....it just goes to show how evil the producers of the show were.....*growls*

Go Cathexis! You tell em girl!! I totally agree with you. In my opinion, I thought Chakotay was always inlove with Janeway. Seven is just an distraction.

Wow....the denial is strong in this topic.

First of all? You're reading too much into Janeway's face. She cares about Chakotay, but not in that way. She was sad over Seven's death. If you all hadn't been ignoring the character that SAVED the show, you would know that Seven and Janeway grew close. (And no, dont' read so much into that either.)

Second of all? Janeway would be a BAD Captain if she consorted with her crew in that way.

Third of all? I'll admit in the episode they seemed to have...feelings. But that wasn't because they liked each other in that way. It was more of a "Well. We're going to be living here the rest of our lives...alone. We both have needs and...well."

Fourth and finally? They probably don't get together in the future. There is a reason they established Seven of Nine and Chakotay together and not Janeway and Chakotay together in the final episode.

I disagree. honey, there's no denial. As if you read spirit walk, Seven and Chakotay is not together.

Yeah... they don't reflect the characters good enough.
I don't think that Janeway and Chakotay could have made a good couple...
They are just too similar for that.

You can't NOT read too much into Janeway's face when Capt. Janeway is told Seven dies in her husband's, Chakotay's, arms. It's a look of agony and grief. Now, granted, Admiral Janeway went back to save them, ultimately putting them both back together...but, she might not have done it to put them back together, but to just bring them back. She would obviously not have a clue as to whether or not they would still end up together.

Yes, we know books are non-canon, but it's the closest thing we're gonna get short of it either, being mentioned on screen, or a Voyager movie is made. Personally, I would go for the latter.

Look here. I posted the pictures of the reactions in Endgame. The pictures are at the bottom.

Wow....um this seems to be a really strong topic, sorry for the illhearted!

But HOW many of you actually read the books! It gives you a good look into their thoughts and feelings, only if you read it hard enough. And in the Books Homecoming AND Further Shore Seven dumps Chakotay and goes off and gets arrested by Starfleet! Dont forget Mark is already married now and Janeway is forced to see the truth! Both Janeway and Chakotay are faced with difficult times and all they have is each other along with the rest of the former crew...

Oh ya, I've read the books. I think it's HILARIOUS that Golden made Seven dump Chakotay. It makes me think that she wants to see Janeway and Chakotay together as much as the rest of us! HAHA! I can't wait to see what she does in her next book, assuming she's going to write another book that takes place after spirit walk and stuff.

I haven't read any of the books i'd prefer to watch the program. Anyway i think Janeway and Chakotay would have got to together or at least tell each other how they felt. I think Janeway cared for Chakotay as Chakotay did Janeway. He always tried to help her, and not just because he's the 1st officer but i think it's because he cared for her. Also Janeway never wanted anything bad to happen to Chakotay and if something did you could tell she was hurt. Also in endgame i think she was upset when she found out about Chakotay and Seven. You have to pay attention to the facial expressions or you don't get the most out the program it just gives it the feeling and you feel what the characters are feeing and it makes you feel a part of it (or it's just me).

Somebody here needs to read "Isabo's Shirt", it's in the Star Trek Voyager: Distant Shores book.....

So what if the books are non-canon??? It's called J/Cer FOREVER, no matter if they were or weren't really in love.

I agree with you too, Founder. I believe that they'll never cross that barrier, and I'm glad, cuz a captain can't do that. Though in Resolutions it was a tough one; what did the writers wanted to accomplish with that episode? Prove that they aren't lovers? I'm still confused. But I'm glad Voyager found a cure and got back so soon,

Well, IMHO, I think before it's all said and done, Chakotay and Janeway will end up together. After all, starfleet is all about crossing boundaries, same can be said for human nature.

Wow! I finally read that over the weekend!!! That was such an emotional chapter I wish they made it into a show, I almost threw the book out the window when Janeway pushed Chakotay away.(I was like NOOOOO!!!!)

But ya now that the "barrer" is now gone I really think that they'll get together, they just need to get it on paper or in a book!

Or possibly even in an upcoming Voyager movie???? Are you kidding? Emotional is an understatement, I was in Barnes & Noble reading it and I was like BAWLING!

I read the books too. I thought they were good and interesting. I mean the first 2 were very good, the last 2 Spirit Walk books were okay. I was wondering if Golden was going to put Janeway and Chakotay together too since she had Seven dump Chakotay. I hope she writes another book. I like all the post Endgame/series stuff.
