Author's note: Before reading this, you will want to read the prologue, for it takes place in a dimension very different from ours. Also, it is not like my usual stories, either. It is simply unique. Character names, Plot line, everything is new. I'm turning a new leaf, lol.
Prologue: Why the ocean cries
Long ago, it was written that mermaids exist.
But in this world, much like ours, mermaids still do. They are enslaved, and eaten, and treated cruelly. This is the legacy that men leave behind. Everything became much worse when they created machinery to help them along. The mermaids feared this, but some were capable of taking on a human form. These mermaids then mated with many humans, and over the course of centuries, there became a time when there was a government agency built simply to try and catch mermaids or mermen born as humans, and capable of existing as either form.
But...
The overcommercialization of mermaid hunting had grown bad. Too bad. between mermaids and mermen dying of enslavement, or of becoming a meal, the mermaid species were almost extinct.
The mermaids hoped that something would be done... because they simply could not handle any more.
Written in a long lost tablet, there read that "Should the balance of good and evil become unbalanced, and that any lost souls of mermaids become too large, then there would be one, a chosen one, sent to restore that balance."
On a remote and private island, unbeknownst to most of the world, the order of mermadia existed. This island was dificult to find because it was hidden amongst an area almost ALWAYS prone to a form of hurricane, much similar to the Bermuda triangle.
The order prayed with all thier might to find the chosen one.
As it turns out, he was looking for them.
Chapter 1; A navigational malfunction.
Lt. Commander Reid Virgenson looked down at annoyance at his prototype hover-fighter.
The hover-fighter was a unique piece of work. It had stealth technology, and several other nifty anti-detection devices, a small rocket launcher mounted on the "bridge" section, and it had access to a top-secret device not even the government knew about.
20 years ago, Randolph Virgenson, Reid's father, had created a device known as the Ionnic Wave Imbalance Sattelite. It was powered purely by solar energy, and was capable of MELTING or Destroying almost any surface target no larger than half a kilometer.
The Proto-type hover-fighter was the last remaining control center for this device, as the government, along with the gladiator-styled Proctors had raided his father's business.
During this incident, 2050 people were killed.
100 Mermaids were discovered and eaten on sight.
1400 Mermaids were sent to a "disciplinary camp".
Reid looked again, away from his memories, back to the radar screen.
"Son of a..." Reid muttered, the last word bieng too soft to hear.
On the screen, two F-15's and a small Destroyer with severe A-1 Anti-Aircraft guns were bearing down on him.
"The price of infamy..." he muttered softly.
The proto-type hover-fighter was a well known sight. It was customary to SHOOT at it on sight. After 180 successful raids of known mermaid processing plants, he was considered a rather large nuisance.
Among his crew of 4, he was the only human. He had "Liberated" 3 mermaids from a proctor interrogation facility, and they had joined his crew.
Between them, the most boring, and useful, Dr. Elaina Trevanza, was an expert at engineering principles. She was the ship's only engineer.
The most lovely, and risky of them was Ms. Irie Helle. She was a rather fast and risky pilot, and she enjoyed making other people *beep* themselves, by making risky almost-collision type moves, and veering off at the last second.
Then there was the doctor and the cook. Dr. Loren Trevanza had been liberated from the proctor facility, only because she was in the process of bieng tortured so Dr. ELAINA Trevanza would talk. Upon learning this, Lt. Commander Reid rescued Dr. E. Trevanza's sister as well.
The rebellion against the proctors was small, and most of them simply did not like the proctor's laws. Not one of them fought against the proctorship for mermaids rights, or to stop the slaughter of mermaids. Still, they were a useful ally, and so Reid accepted the odd wierd job from them.
Denara's Octagon, a very evil place, full of hurricanes, and rumoured to have a small island was not far... he could probably make it... but his ship was rather hurricane-intolerant.
"Sir, we have to do SOMETHING!" Loren said rather loudly.
"Loren... you know I can't think when you shriek like that." Ried replied.
"DAMN YOU PEOPLE! I'm trying to fly here!" Irie yelled, in her oddly intoxicating voice.
"If anyone were to ask my opinion, which I note they are not..." Elaina started up....
"SHUT UP!" Ried and Irie yelled back.
Everyone held thier breathe while Irie took a sharp turn after almost clipping an f-15.
"Rocket's charged! Lets nail us a destroyer to the wall!" Elaina said with alot of happiness.
"Irie, Attack pattern Alpha three omega. Rockets charged and ready to roll." Ried said.
"Aye sir, Attack pattern Alpha three omega." Irie replied.
Alpha meant that it was to be a straight forward attack plan. Had it been Beta, she would have used evasive techniques, Gamma would have been slightly more flashy, and Omega was "on-the-fly" techinques. Three meant that there were three targets. Omega meant that there were Water and Air targets. Had it been Alpha at the end, it would mean air, Beta, bieng ground, and Gamma bieng water. Omega meant a combination of any of them.
"Elaina, where's the IIC?" Ried asked.
"It's currently over washington."
"Well I guess we can't rely on the Ionnic Imbalance to save our ass, can we?"
"No sir."
"That was a rhetoric question, Elaina."
"Sorry Sir."
There were some days he wondered why the hell he did this.
The A-1 Guns started firing.
"Oh lovely." Ried muttered.
"Sir?" Irie asked.
"Nevermind, Irie. Switch to Attack pattern Gamma 1 Gamma. Screw the planes, if they see us bearing down on the destroyer, the planes will come after us, and will get to close. Then they can't use the A-1 Guns, and have to fight fair for a change."
"Sir! Fighter Squadron approaching from the North East!" Elaina yelled.
"I see that Elaina."
4... hardly much of a fighter squadron...
3 more blips showed up to the south east... and 5 from the north west... and 4 from the south west.
"16?" Elaina yelled.
"It seems the proctorship was expecting us." Loren said rather sarcastically.
"We've got Aircraft Carriers bearing 90 degrees off eachother, starting at North by North east." Elaina said.
"WORKING ON IT!" Irie yelled.
In a rather destructive eplosion, the Destroy blew up. it took out both it's little planes.
"3 down, 20 to go." Ried muttered.
"SIR!" Elaina said.
"Yes Elaina."
"Check the weather-cam."
"Elaina... now's not the time to talk about the wea...woah... WHAT THE HELL?"
Hurricanes. EVERYWHERE. He could see only one direction to go. There appeared to be a small island there.
"Irie, Bearing 1 by 37, south west. A small island. Show us your stuff."
"Aye sir." she replied.

Interlogue(Yay for a spiffy word!)
----------------------
The order of mermadia watched as the Destroyer sank. The planes simply ceased to exist in the large fireball that resulted. When the storm cleared, the island had dissapeared, as had the small craft that had fought so valiantly to escape the raid on Minhash Tipanth, and it's mermaid processing plant.
It was no longer where it had been. It was landing on the sacred isle. No other Machinou had ever touched this earth before.
The leader of the order, An old mermaid named Lori Vandreen watched as the craft landed.
To her amusement, most of the crew was mermaid.
And then the human stepped out.
Only to be greeted by thirty seven mermen with spears to his head.
This would be interesting.

Proctorship Chapter 1.5
----------------------------
"WHAT THE FLYING HELL IS GOING ON OUT HERE?" Fleet Admiral Barnes asked.
"Sorry sir." Commodore Singhas replied.
"Sorry doesn't cut it Commodore. You told me that the rebels would strike The Gung-shat factory. They did. You told me that we would get them without too much trouble. We did not."
"Sorry sir." Commodore Singhas replied.
"Attention mother goose, mother goose, this is A-C-NW, sir. We have lost aquisition of target."
"Attention all A-C and F-C teams. They are no longer here. Heck if I know where they went, but I believe the Ocean protected them."
"Comeback mother goose, this is F-C SE. Did I hear that right? Those hurricanes were a DISTRACTION?"
"This is mother goose, that's correct F-C SE. Return to base."
"Affirmative."
"Admiral?"Commodore Singhas asked
"Yes Commodore?"
"Permission to learn what is going on sir?"
"Granted. Come with me to my office."
A short walk later, The commodore and the admiral arrive in a small mostly wooden, room, filled with many trophies.
"Commodore. Sit down."
"Yes Admiral."
"Listen Carefully. What I'm about to let you read is NOT to be heard or read past these doors."
"Yes Admiral."
"This is top secret. It's been code-named the tears of the ocean."
"Very well Admiral."
The note read:
To the attention of Fleet Admiral Barnes, Commander of Tacifian Fleet 12.
We have aquired some ancient texts of a long lost hero from one of the mermaids we have interogated.
There is an order that assisted this hero. They are known as the order of mermadia. They are considered a threat. They have the capacity to move the ocean, and destroy a great many things.
This hero is written to return in a new body and spirit.
We believe that he has manifested the body of the rebel Ried Virgenson.
Capture and Interrogate.
Tranfer his "Crew" to Tanis Minor Training facility.
Failure to complete this mission is not relevant.
DO NOT follow that ship if it dissapears.
General Langsten.
"Admiral... what have we gotten ourselves into?"
"Commodore... you don't want to know..."
"Yes Admiral... and Admiral?"
"Yes Commodore?"
"Sorry sir."
"Oh shut up."
