I love the DOD doublespeak.

Article above wrote:

"The $20 million Minotaur deployed into a sun-synchronous orbit around the planet's poles the Space Test Program-R1 mission's Streak satellite."

"Streak is a technology demonstrator whose objective is to demonstrate rapid response, short mission life, low Earth orbit space technologies and gather information about the low Earth orbit environment," a DARPA spokesperson said.

A "sun-sychronous polar-orbiting satellite with rapid response and short mission life" is a doublespeak for a quick-deployment spy bird which can fill the gap between a sudden event and the the setup of observation by planes and existing satellites. Yeah, they're "studying the atmosphere" - and anything that happens to be at the bottom of it!
