PostThu Sep 15, 2005 3:15 pm    Rome Total War , Which operating system ?

Hey I really want to get Rome Total. I have wanted it for a while but I have never been able to use my computer for games.
Well now I am allowed to use our old windows ME computer and I was wondering if I could use it to play Rome Total War ?

I cant find the specifications for my computer all I know is that its a Packard Bell, Windows ME / 2000 and has DirectX 8.0.
I know nothing about my graphics card, I think it is nvidia something something 70.
I got this computer about 4 years ago.
Will the game play ok ?

i would say try it. Rome: Total War came out in September 2004, in which XP already existed. So its always a guess. The requirements don't say anything about XP so i don't think it will be a problem.

BTW, Rome: Total War is one of the best games ever made.

oh, but if the Computer is 4 years old i wouldn't count on it working good.

The game requires a 1GHZ CPU minimum, or else large armies and such would be too much for it and it wouldn't run properly.

Also be ready too hive up about 4.0 GB of disk space.

Plus you would need at least 512mb of ram for it to run nicely.

Thanks
I have wanted the game for a while, I love games like that.
After what you have said though about the 512MB of ram and all that I really doubt that the game will work properly

So I've decided to save up and buy a new computer.

I've worked it out and I should be able to afford a new PC in about 7 Months

Or April next year , whichever you prefer.

. good luck.

perhaps a nice idea, if you are going too buy a computer anyways: buy Rome: Total War first, try it out on your old one and if it doesn't work you already have it for your new one.

i wonder how much it cost now adays.

I would really buy this game. I have it, and it's every dollar/euro/any other money worth. But.. then you must have a superb PC.. and most people don't have one.. Ah, well.. i'm off.. going to play MOHAA..
*Yes, Medal Of Honour Allied Assault, i still play the old fashion ones*
