Heya, im matt 19 year old guy. I've got seriously into voyager, its on Sky 1 at the moment, 4 episodes a night. Its amazing. I dont know how I got into it, but i just love sci-fi & anything futuristic/technology/possibilities, wondering whats out there. love it all. I have no idea which series is showing now but the last episode I saw was Kes returning to voyager & she went back in time to try and take over the ship so she could go home.
Awesome forum, I didnt know people would still want to talk about voyager seeing as its.. 7 years old nearly? Im not really familiar with the trek community, just got into it really. Ive watched a lil of DS9, Enterprise but thats all.
Anyway, I saw this program, Visions of the Future. It talked about possible technologys/inventions in the future and some scientists where actually inspired by star trek, they talked about nano technology, lol. I thought nano was just some trek word but its real. They talked about refabricators (replicators), teleporting photons, nano technology. I found it a really fascinating program, you might be able to find it online, not sure.
Well thats me really, seeya :]

Hey Matt. Yeah I've just joined this online community too. I was surprised and excitted when i found this place. Because i was a big fan of Voyager when it was origally played, when i was only a kid. but my dad watched it. and I've recently become reobsessed....
haha about the nano technology. I always thought it was just from star trek... boy did i get a shock when i found out my sister my sisters degree involved nano technology at university. I was like omg... borges!
Just outta curiousity... Sky 1, that's a channal in NZ. are you from New Zealand?

Hey, welcome! If you're interested in nanotechnology--which was actually not inspired by Star Trek, it was first concieved of in 1959 by physicist Richard Feinman--check out www.foresight.org. I'm one of few people currently working on a degree in hopes that I can do research with companies such as Zyvex and SunMicrosystems. Nanotechnology in reality, you might know, has a lot more uses than they ever explored in Star Trek.
