Fri Jun 10, 2005 1:53 pm Windows Media Player Help |
|
Alright, so I have this song stuff saved to Windows Media Player but not in another accessable way. I want to put this on my iPod, and I was wondering if there was a way to make a song from Windows Media Player an mp3.
Can somebody help me?!?

If it's on your computer, I assume it is a file somewhere, no?
In Windows Media Player, locate the song you want and right-click. Select "Open containing folder" and you can find out where it is located on your computer.
If you want to convert it to another format, from .wma to .mp3 or something like that, you'll need a program to do that. WavePad is a simple program that will save things in various audio formats.

It's downloaded from the net, and doesn't have it's own folder...

Then its probably in a temp folder. If its in WMP it has to be in a folder somewhere on your computer.

You can try and get a mp3 converter somewhere of internet. They change any format of music to mp3.

What are you using to download. If your using something like WinMX, it'll let you select what folder to download into. If your using Itunes, it'll either make its own folder, or stick it in a windows temp. Either way, if you right click the start tab on the start bar and open explorer, you can look down the list, and it should say something like temp files/folders. If you look in there you should find it. Or look in My Music not the one in my documents. A lot of downloads go in there.

Maybe RM means that he streamed the file of the net. If that's the case it's not actually downloaded to your pc.

That would mean he doesn't have the file on his computer, no file no music.
Maybe if he knew the name of the file he can search for it with windows search. when he finds it he can open i with windows Media player and rip it into a MP3, i recently did that to an audio CD with .cda files, it worked like a charm, i didn't even know WMP has his own converter. But i don't know if it works with seperate files though.
Never hurts to try, at least you have found the file then.
