The Arrow:The Story you Didn't Hear...

Legal Stuff...wait! there isnt any! Just the Avro Arrow is copy right of the Avro Avation company (i think) These are based on true events durng the cold war, only some aspects have been changed, those aspects just happen to be major ones...lol. and it is just my opinion that the American Government persuaded and pressured the Canadaian Government to cancel the Avro Arrow project, Im still not sure what exactly happened all I know was it was cancelled...now please enjoy the story...


Its the 1950's, the Cold War has put tensions on all the nations in the world. They fear each other and dont trust one another...

"Primeminister...the need for Intercept Aircraft has come and gone...what you need is Nucelar Weapons to defend you from possible Communist attack" says the President of the United States of America
"Mr. President, I am in full knowledge of the Nuclear Threat, but I feel that if the need ever arised for any allied country to have Air Support, Canada can fill that need" respons the Primeminister of Canada
"Primeminister...be reasonable, no country will ever need Air Support, all the need is a few Nukes to threaten one another-" began the president
"President, the Arrow is an incredible craft, cancelling the project would be a waste for money, how about this, we will produce the Arrow for ou and you produce Nuclear Weapons for us?" suggest the Primeminister
"No! Absolutely not! Primeminister you either cancel the project or face the consquences" states the President
"Is that a treat Mr. President?" asked the Primeminister Calmly were too close, he wont dare use nukes and besides, we have the most advanced aircraft on the planet, they are in no position to make threats or demands
"Consider it a promise, what is your answer mr Primeminister?" asks the President
"Well...I think that..."began the Primeminister

"I will cancel the project" says the Prime minister
"You made a good choice, I'll see you around Mr. Prime Minister" responds the president
"Good night Mr. President" says the prime minister "Ms. Scott, can you please get anyone who worked or is working on the Avro Arrow project to come here next saturday, the Canadian Government will pay all travel fees"
"Why? to tell them that they have lost their job, that their incredible aircraft has been ditched?" asked Ms. Scott
"Just do it please" says the prime minister

"What a relief" says the president
"What? the Avro Arrow has been canceled?" asked the First Lady
"Yes, I wont have to worry about a Canadaian Military threat now" responds the president
"The Canadians are good people, besides they know we would nuke them if they ever threatened us" says the First Lady
"No, the nukes could affect America as well, we just have a larger Army and could invade easily" The President Begins" The Arrow was too much of a threat, you seen the specks, you also know what it is capeable of"
"It would rule the sky, nothing our best engneers have designed even compare to the Arrow" states the First Lady
"Find the man who designed the Arrow, and inform him that he could have a job, working for the United States Air Force..."says the president

"Mr President, that man dissappeared 2 years ago, he hasnt been seen since he first submited the designs for the Arrow" reapons the first lady" Even the Canadian Government doesnt know where he is"
"Really? well put out a search for him..." says the president

***The Next Saturday***

The Prime minister stands in a room, surronded by many men and women.
"Now, I know your wondering why I called you here, well its simple...officially the Avro Arrow project has been cancled" once the prime minister said this there was conversasion and comments of dissapproval
"...but un offically its still on, I want everyone of you to keep this a secret but we are continueing to produce the Avro Arrow. The American Governement doesnt know this and must never find out, do you understand?" says the prime minister. Cheers erupred once he finished this statement and all the men and women involved promised to keep it a secret, and it was the best kept secret until the Cuban Missile Crissis...

The Cuban Missile Crissis, the Americans had suspected the Canadians were keeping secrets, so they did not ask for their help or opinion during the Crissis.
"Tell the Silos in Flordia that they can fire when ready" orders the president. Meanwhile in Canada...

"Mr. Prime Minister, we have just recieved word...the United States has fired a Nuclear Missile at Cuba" says a man urgetnly
"WHAT?!?! What were they thinking, get the president on the phone immediately!" yells the Prime Minister as he takes the phone "What are you thinking? You seen the data, a nuke could easily destroy half of this planet and eliminate all life on it!"
"That research is false, one small nuke wont hurt us-" begins the president but the Prime Minister Hangs up.
"All Avro Arrow pilots, scramble, scramble" says the prime minister. All over canada pilots flodded air ports, juping into their arrows they took off and rendvouz over ontario.
"What are we doing?" asked asked a pilot
"US launched a nuke, its our job to intercept that nuke and destroy it before it hits Cuba" says the lead pilot "lets go, max speed!" The Avro Arrows launched accross the sky in formation twars their destination...

"ETA to Missile, 40 seconds" said A pilot
"When will the missile strike cuba?" asked a pilot
"30" responded command
"Allright boys, punch it" said the lead pilot. The Avro Arrows streaked across the sky, just a blur to anyone watching.
"We're in range sir" said a pilot
"All Arrows, open fire!" orderd Command. In a second a blaze of fury came from the arrows, missiles, all locked on to the nuclear missile. The Arrows pulled back and got as far away from the missile as possible, because when it blew, it was likely they would go with it. The missiles inpacted on the nuke. The nuke exploded into a shock wave, folling dangerously close to the arrows
"This is going to be close!"
"YEEE HAW!"

The Brave Canadian pilots out ran the shockwave, and prevent a nuclear disasder, but made another. The cold war was over after the americans display of fearlesness and the canadians display of selflesness. The Americans and Canadians were now at war. Canadian Aviation and weapon technolgy was superior, but the americans out numered them 100 to 1. This was a begenning of a war which could bring the apoclypse...

Okay, that was the background story, now time for the characters:D
