They did something in 2004 that greatly changed the world in one way or another. The Google Guys (a personal favourite ) continued to expand arguably the Internet's largest search engine. Those from the Bush Administration continued to push the American foreign policy. Mahmoud Abbas and Ariel Sharon finally made the first steps toward peace. Burt Rutan designed and built the first private spacecraft, the same one that won the X-Prize.

This is a very good issue, even if one doesn't read TIME magazine, pick up a copy if one can!

It's not a Top 100 list or any sort of ranking. These are the most 100 influential people of 2004, they have not been ranked in any particular order, only sorted by category of influence (and a Hero/Icon is just as important as a Leader/Revolutionary).
