Tue Apr 12, 2005 10:41 pm Paramount Rejects Secrecy and Fan Money |
|
"A high-ranking executive at Paramount Television, which produces Star Trek: Enterprise, not only denied to SCI FI Wire that the studio is in talks with Trek United, the fan group that is raising money to revive the show, but also sent a letter to Trek United chief Tim Brazeal last month saying that the studio would not accept fan money for such a purpose."
The game, the gore, the gall: just when you think you've heard it all... the 411 at TrekWeb.

18 years of loyalty (not that many for myself, but still) and this is how they repay us...by cancelling a Trek series for the first time in over a decade or more, ridiculous .

It's not like they had a choice. They couldn't keep pouring money into a show which wasn't turning a profit.

It's a shame but it is understandable.

Well, that's what Paramount is hoping to do. Not with ENT, but with Trek as a whole.
They figure if they give it a few years' break, then by the time the eventually do start up another Trek show, interest will be high enough that it will make money again.
Of course, it'll have to be a good Trek show for it to keep those viewers.

I didnt really mind if they fixed it or not just as long as enterprise kept on going, despite the goods and bads i liked the series it only could have gotten better like any other star trek saga.
To think that there maybe years in between the next star trek series (if they ever make one) is truly scary. Its a shame that these producers and writers are giving up on this project, it still showed promise.
There was still alot of history to unfold leading up to the birth of the federation, now we will never know what happened

We've known what happened in the long-term for 40 years now.....
As for the specific events surrounding the BOTF, I have no doubt that a Pocket Books novel will cover those events if ENT doesn't.

Just so you know, that article is practically void. That letter was sent more than a month ago, well before talks even started, if I understand what Tim has told me right.

I agree, alot of it is shown in the starfleet database on websites to what happens, but to see it on a television series would be something really cool.If it comes to books then so be it at least something will explain it in detail.
