Nicole DeHuff RIP January 6, 1974- Febuary 16, 2005

Actress Nicole DeHuff has passed away due to complications from pneumonia. She was 31. Nicole was Born in Oklahoma, USA. She began her acting studies in Carnegie Mellon Acting Conservatory where she continued her studies untill she landed the role as 'Deborah Byrnes' in the 2000 comedy remake of Meet the Parents. Her career was unfortunately short as was her life. CSI fans may recognized Ms. DeHuff from her 1 appearance in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and her 2 appearances in CSI: Miami. Ms. DeHuff has also made an appearance in Monk, Dragnet (the new short lived one with the Talanted Ed O'Neil) With out a trace and The Practice She has also in a tv series The Court along with apparence in Suspect Zero, See Arnold Run and lastly the upcoming film Unbeatable Harold as 'Wanda Livingston'. Ms DeHuff was married in November of 2001. She is surrvied by her husband Ari Palitz. She had no children.

And it's sad. Unfortunately have had experiences w/ misdiagnosis before. (My Dad went in, they said he was having migraines, was actually having a stroke,

Maybe if they listened to the patient? Huh, novel idea, eh? I mean, she knew what was going on in her body, but they always act like you have no clue.

Yeah true true, kinda similar to Terri? (off topic for a tad bit) shes not talking but aware can supposedly can learn to talk but the drs say shes as good as dead or what ever. (back to the topic) What Nicole had can be tricky I had a teacher once that thought she had the flu the next day shen she wasnt there I was told she had that and she was gone for like 2 weeks

Yeah, I've had multiple problems with misdiagnosis myself. I was told by doctors 4 times that I had mono or just a cough. I ended up in the emergency room with a 105.1 temperature because they misdiagnosed my Pneumonia.

I'm sorry, but a doctor's mistakes only go so far.

I wish some docs would stop acting as if they're gods. Maybe less mistakes would occur.

It's always sad when someone dies from something so treatable, especially when that person is otherwise fit.

I've not had a misdiagnosis as such, but I've had doctors not believing what was wrong with me (GP sent me into hospital with suspected gallstones, doc there, without properly examining me, turns round and says it's not gallstones, you're far too young, it's gastroenteritis. Then come back the blood results which show my liver's not working properly...

tss damn doctors, its these time limits and HMO's in some places profits are the main cocern, I know of a couple Dr.s that have their own practice now because of this

Here it's the NHS targets brought in by a Mr Tony Blair and his government... the medical staff I've spoken to hate them. They say it focuses too much attention on those parts with targets and not enough on those without.

Agree with that. Also the system at the moment means Doctors have a certain amount of money they can use in a year. So for minor illnesses they will always say it is a virus, as they are untreatable so they don't need to use money. It's the only way to get the money they need for more serious things, such as cancer treatments.

Yup. It disgusts me that Great Olmond Street's had to close some beds because it's treated too many children than it had money for... if hospitals run out of money for reasons like that the government should give them more money, and stop wasting it on things like the Child Trust Fund (which Sammie's eligable for at the increased amount, because we get full Child Tax Credit, but I don't agree with. Still going to put her voucher in, because we've got no choice, but I'm not adding any extra. I'm going to open a seperate bank account for that.)

I guess I'm really lucky in that my GP will always prescribe antibiotics if he thinks it's bacterial (though not if he thinks it's a virus), and if he's unsure of something he'll get it checked out (such as when he thought Sammie had colic, but sent her to the paediatrician anyway, and it turned out to be e-coli).

The problem with the NHS is it's always going to need more money than it's going to get, so the docs have to prioritise. I thinking getting rid of all the managers and stop privatising bits will improve things though (especially the cleaning).

The NHS is still a lot better than the alternative for Britain though.
