Judge Orders Arrest of Michael Jackson
By TIM MOLLOY
Associated Press Writer

SANTA MARIA, Calif. (AP) -- An angry judge issued an arrest warrant for Michael Jackson on Thursday after he failed to show up for his child molestation trial on time and his attorney announced the singer was being treated for a serious back problem.

Superior Court Judge Rodney S. Melville said he would also revoke Jackson's $3 million bail unless he appeared in court within one hour.

The announcement came after a few minutes after court was to have begun. Jackson's accuser was expected to begin a second day of testimony against the singer.

The jury was not yet in the courtroom when the judge entered.

Jackson's lawyer, Thomas Mesereau Jr., said, "Mr. Jackson is at Cottage Hospital in Santa Ynez with a serious back problem. He does plan to come in."

The judge, obviously angry, declared, "I'm issuing a warrant for his arrest. I'm forfeiting his bail. I will hold the order for one hour."

Mesereau had been observed talking urgently on his cell phone for about a half-hour before the session was to begin.

Jackson has had health problems that previously interrupted the proceedings. During the first week of jury selection he went to a hospital with flu symptoms. But he has been on time or early since then.

if it isn't one thing its another with this guy. if I had as many problems as he does I swear I would be in retirement. I think this is a ploy to extend the trial.

I just heard about this. Good for the judge, IMO.

He's uncomprehensive of the real world. I don't think he's guilty of anything sexual, but he is a weirdo who does not realize that he is an adult, and that he needs to act like one.

Yeah, but the thought of him being arrested is "just crazy" (to use his words, *sarcasm*)

But I don't know if he's innocent or guilty. Wierd, yes. But more? I don't know...I won't make any premature judgements.

If you paid atten the judge did this becuase he (MJ) frequently has "Problems" (Im not saying he was not sick he could ahve been but to the point....) that casues delays to the trial, it may not look like it but the judge has been cutting some slack most times 5 mins late for the first time is enough for a repimand

heres a little add-on from imdb (www.imdb.com)

Quote:

Jackson's Trial Resumes After Unexpected Delay
Michael Jackson's child molestation trial resumed yesterday morning, an hour and a half after a judge issued a warrant for his arrest. Furious Judge Rodney Melville Jr issued an arrest warrant for the 46-year-old Bad singer, after he failed to arrive at the Santa Maria, California, courthouse by 8:30am local time. The warrant and an additional threat of Jackson's $3 million bail being taken away were held up by the judge for an hour, as Jackson raced his way to court after visiting a Santa Ynez hospital with a back complaint. ABC News reports that Jackson and his entourage were driving at excessive speeds - in excess of 95 miles per hour - trying to get to the courthouse before the 9:35am deadline. They reportedly caught up to members of the California Highway Patrol and were forced to slow down a little, as they feared wasting time being pulled over for speeding. Once court proceedings got underway at approximately 10am - following a pajama-clad Jackson's 9.38am arrival - Melville immediately addressed the jury and apologized to them for being late, explaining how Jackson had a medical problem. It has yet to be announced whether the pop superstar faces arrest for today's developments. Jackson has pleaded not guilty to 10 felony charges of child molestation, administering an intoxicating agent and conspiracy involving allegations of child abduction, false imprisonment and extortion. He faces up to 21-years in jail if convicted.

does any one eles notice that the judge doenst belive the whole "tip to the hospital" thing? and taht it seems lately the lightest problem MJ rushes to the Hospital?
