Chapter 1: The Fate of Time

The silence of space rang out across the entire Alpha Quadrant. The Sileb System was empty. Not one ship flew into its space. There were only 10 planets in the system and all of them were uninhabited. It was relatively unimportant to the major powers of the Alpha Qudrant but all of that would soon change. The deaf of space was suddenly broken when a special anomaly exploded open and s small ship flew out of it. The ship was not large and had six warp nacelles. It gave a strange hum as it flew through space. The ship almost had an aesthetic feel to its look. Two warp nacelles was venting plasma and it was obvious the ship was damaged. It hobbled away from the spatial anomaly it left in its wake. The Bridge was very small. It was slightly bigger than an average cockpit. The instruments of the Bridge were strangely alien and almost futuristic in design. The crew of this strange ship was made up of only one person. The crewman was sitting in a large chair in the center of the ship. Several of wires from various consoles were attached to his body. They each made up every section of the ship, from Sickbay to Engineering to even more. The man himself was not really visible from all of the wires and a grey helmet worn over his head. He accessed OPS and scanned for any activity from the spatial anomaly. There was none and he breathed a sigh of relief. He disengaged from OPS and accessed Tactical. He targeted a tachyon beam towards it to close it. He vowed he wouldn�t fail his mission. He was taking it too far but he didn�t care. He would find what he was searching for. No matter what it took. He targeted the anomaly and prepared to fire. He felt a jolt when an alarm began to ring out in his head from OPS. The Computer was warning him that a ship was entering through the anomaly. His eyes widened in fear when he saw a Temporal Federation ship fly through it. He turned his ship about and raised the shields. The man locked onto the Temporal ship and fired a strange White beam. As it flew towards the Temporal Federation ship space was being torn open by it. The white beam hits it mark but little damage is done.

The Bridge of the Temporal ship, USS Timeless, shakes from the hit. The Captain of the ship, Felix Manuel, clutched a nearby railing. He looked at his Klingon First Officer, Deroq.

�Damn!� He shouted at him. �He is using the Particle Beam against us! He is tearing space apart!�

The Klingon nodded grimly. The ship shook again and the shields were barely holding. An Alien officer at Tactical checked his readings

�We can�t take many more hits like that!� He shouted. �If the Shields drop�..the Hull will be only able to take so much from the Particle Beam�..�

Deroq slammed his fist on the railing.

�This Pah Taq will not survive to see the completion of his plans!� He vowed angrily. �Return fire! Target his temporal nacelles!�

The Alien at Tactical nodded and returned fire to the small ship. Two more nacelles were hit and a damaged one was blown off. It swung around in space until it exploded. A massive shockwave flew out from it and hit both ships. The Timeless was hit hard and the shields shimmered as they were slowly draining from the temporal blast. The smaller ship was hit even harder but had extremely advanced shields. They drop very little from the blast. The man inside the ship smiled under his helmet and watched as the Timeless was trying to recover from the blast.

�This is life.� He thought. �Pathetic forms� trying to recover from the distraught position that fate has lain upon us. Is this all we have to look forward to? Where is the �more� people claim there is to life. If it isn�t there, then what is the point? �

He accessed Helm and opened another Temporal anomaly. He activated his Temporal Engines and warped into it. The Timeless finally recovered from the blast just in time to see their �catch� flee into time once more. Felix watched the viewscreen in anger.

�You have a fix on his location?� He asked the helmsman.

The Romulan Helmsman shook his head.

�Not exactly sir.� He explained. �I have about 40 fragments in time. He could have appeared in any of them.�

Felix nodded slowly.

�Take us in the first one then.� He said. �We will search each and every one of them.�

Deroq shook his head.

�If he finds the Omega Particle then it�s all over. The Future is no longer protected because of what he�s done.� Deroq said. �If we fail�..�

Felix looked at Deroq.

�We won�t fail.� He said defiantly. �We are the only ones left protected from this maniac�s evil quest�..its up to us.�

Deroq nodded and turned to the Helmsman. The Romulan looked back at Felix and awaited his orders. Felix looked at him.

�Take us in�.� He said. �Engage�..�

The USS Timeless turned away from the dead of space. Felix surveyed it and saw that space was horribly distraught. This was not meant to be here but stopping him would restore everything here. They entered the anomaly and flew into the unknown. The anomaly closed after several minutes. No doubt by the crew of the Timeless.

Nearly an hour passed before new activity occurred in the system. A familiar Constellation class ship warped into the system. The ship stopped at the edge of the battle scene and stayed a safe distance away from the torn apart space. The ship, the USS Enterprise, took up a position close enough to scan the area. The Bridge was relatively quiet but curious about what happened. James T. Kirk sat in the Captain�s seat with Doctor McCoy standing next to him. Kirk stood up and walked over to Spock. Spock was looking into the small boxlike device which gave him distinct readings.

�Mr. Sulu?� Kirk ordered. �Maintain a safe distance.�

Sulu nodded and followed the order. Kirk tapped Spock�s shoulder.

�Well?� He asked. �Was it worth detracting from our current mission to look at this?�

Spock turned away and looked at Kirk with his hands behind his back.

�Captain?� He said calmly. �May I remind you that our �current mission� is to explore this system and the nearby system?

Kirk looked at McCoy and they smiled at each other. Kirk looked back at Spock.

�No you may not Mr. Spock.� He said. �So what have you found?�

Spock raised an eyebrow.

�This space is highly illogical.� He explained. �It appears to be the result of, not natural evolution, but rather a battle. A battle that, according to sensors, happened not too long ago.�

Kirk looked at Spock in surprise.

�Are you saying that ships tore space apart?� He asked.

Spock nodded to him.

�My readings show that the result of strange anomalies and that gravity and oxygen existing in some portions of this space is the result of some kind of beam weapon.� He said. �I believe if a Starship were to venture into there it would immediately be destroyed.�

Chekov swallowed nervously. He looked over at Sulu.

�You don�t think the wessels that deed this are around do you?� He asked in a heavy Russian accent.

Sulu shrugged and checked his readings to make sure they were a safe distance away.

McCoy looked at Spock and Kirk.

�Perhaps we should leave before any of the people who did this return�.� He suggested.

Spock shook his head.

�It is doubtful any ships survived what happened here.� He said. �The odds of us seeing them in the future are doubtful.�

Kirk walked back to his seat and stood next to it..

�Perhaps�.� He said slowly. �But I don�t want to take any chances or risks for anyone who might stumble into this space. Leave a Buoy here with a warning not to enter this system.�

Uhura nodded and did as she was ordered. Kirk took a seat in the chair.

�Get us out of here Mr. Sulu.� He said. �Warp 2.�

The Enterprise turned and fled the system. Unknown to them another anomaly, a gateway, was forming from the temporal nacelle explosion. It was almost like the beginnings of a black hole but because of the strange plasma from the engine it became a Wormhole. But a Wormhole that led to a galaxy�far far away.

This is my first attempt at making a Fan Fic. It may not be great but its a story I would enjoy. I didn't make this to start a flame war about which side is better. I just made it for some fun. If you don't like it thats fine. I just ask that we don't get into any arguments about the topic. Well I hope you enjoy reading it, becasue I enjoy writing it.
