Dust to dust, and ash to ash,
Another victim, but just another figure in the cache.
Forever in a day, death seems to be the way
To make our strength wither in the wind and sway.

Sands of time, they slip away so fast,
One life begins, another's day his last.
Futilty is a word we so often hear,
When the reaper comes, when our time is near.

And though our eyes may swell with tears,
Sore and red, we see eternity's not here.
No one lives forever, we finally understand,
Our short time here makes it all the more grand.

And blackness and sorrow may invade our mind,
Taunt our souls, leave our joy behind.
Yet we soon see the error in our thoughts,
For what we thought was gone, was never lost.

And the sun's never shined so brighter,
And hugs never seemed so tighter.
Simple gestures of affection are boundless now,
And in a new endurance we are endowed.

And on the ending of this day nears,
But it seems as though twas many years.
Rememberance unites our body and our soul,
To our dying day, mortality uniting us all.
