Valentine's day is crap imo. I mean if someone were to give me a flower someday... anyday, then I get really happy and I'd be bouncing around! and that person would totally be way up here on the scale after that... But a gift on V-day isn't as fun, it's like something you Have to do.
Do you give away flowers and presents on valentine's day?
Anyway I encourage you to buy someone a flower TODAY... it's ten times more worth now then on valentine's day!

Sadly I did last Valintines day even though I think that day is over marketed (SP) if you love someone you don't need one day to do it.

I don't remember if I did last year or not. I might have. Usually I don't. I mean, it was fun in school, but, like Jeff said, if you love someone you don't need a specific day to show it. You can show it all the time.

You don't need a specific day to say that you love someone. I think it's more for people that are too shy to say they love someone so they they can, and don't have to say who it's from. I never get anything anyway, so...

All true, you don't have to do anything on a specific day to show you love someone.
However, it's the whole atmosphere that makes that day special. You see many people walk around with flowers/gifts and you know that person is going to make someone happy (in most cases of course).
Anyway, I look forward to the 14th of February.

Really? You two are so sweet... I'll start thinking up something heartwarming to write on your cards for the next Valentine!

I don't bother. It's just another way for people to make money. One of my friends spent bout 40-50 on this girl this year which I thought was ridiculous but its his money.

Nope, not usually. I should, though this year. I had a friend last year who gave me something, and since I wasn't expecting it, I didn't have anything for them, kinda sorta embarassing, hmmm, (this was just a friend thing, not an attraction thing, ).

I believe in spontaneous love. I think it is much more genuine and much nicer if you buy something spontaneously. Such as just coming home and giving a lady a box of chocolates, a CD or DVD.
With Valentines Day, people feel obligated. And I have known people buy such stuff on Valentines Day even when they aren't in a happy relationship.
Not to sound like a miser but I would rather give/receive spontaneously. Romance, sex, gifts-they're all better when they just happen without any planning. Just my two cents.
