PostWed Sep 22, 2004 9:19 pm    School Food: Love It? Hate It?

Alright, here's the deal: just tell us your opinion on school food and if you think something should be done to change it or not. I definitely think it should be changed at our school. All they serve is cheap knock-offs of fast food that taste like crap. I think they should either completely change the menu here for some healthier stuff or at least just make their knock-offs better lol.

Back in the olden days, when I was in high school, the food at the Academy was pretty decent. Though I did have pizza quite a bit,

I buy school lunch everyday at about 1:30, It's not always the best (half the time i know its from past days) but by that time in the day i could really care less about what i eat as long as it will not kill me. The lunches at centennial high school are two dollars, which i think is very overpriced for the amount of food that they do give. They provide a small milk, only 8 ounces so I am always getting up for water. I would bring my own lunch but i never have time to make it in the mornings.

elementary school: everything from grapes to toast bounced... what more can I say? :p

high school: the only available food from the school was a *beep* DECA monopoly, so I had it once or twice. Chick-fil-A that they had driven in from the mall. over priced :p

college: I had a cheesburger on Preview Daze, it was ok. otherwise I've only had a snickers btwn classes.. but they sell pepsi products! hurray! (non of my other schools did)

but...

middle school had the best food ever! They had these mini deep dish pizzas, and also the biggest slice of greasiest thin crust pizza from pizza hut. and then for dessert, they sold these giant frosted cookies. they had hot onion rings, hot nachos, Sobe, anything. you wanted. man, those were the good days.

It's not that bad, but not great either. Also a lot of it is the same every day, so gets boring.

School food was horrible. Best was 10th grade pizza, then they had to change everything and the only thing I liked was the chicken patty. Middle school food bounced, even the meat.

I use to love my school dinners. They were lovely. College food is ok. IMHO, they should serve more marmite!

OMG! Pizza in school!
That's totally.... CRAP!
No wonder why everyone goes fat. (and NO I have nothing against fat people just because i said that! It's best I make that clear )

Anyway, the food at my "colage" was GREAT! (And free ) It was like going to a restaurang! And they cooked everything there, not that crappy precooked food. And all the sallads were... heaven!
But now, I never eat at the university, cuz I usually only have one lession day.

Well, in primary school I had sandwiches nearly all the way through which mummy used to make for me, At one point I had school dinners, but because I'm such a fussy eater, sometimes they'd be serving virtually nothing that I liked. I've never had a school dinner in high school. For the first few weeks of it 4 years ago I took sandwiches with me to school, then after that I've come home every day and eaten the sandwiches that mummy leaves in the fridge, They issued us with swipe card things a few years ago to use in the cafeteria. Never touched mine,

We have a Canteen that sells pies, hotdogs, sweets, chips and ice blocks, but like 1 pie cost $2.50, which is so not worth it, because they aren't very good pies.
