Alright, so there was a post in Scifi, Drama, etc... that brought this up and I thought it'd be fun to discuss in chit chit.

What sort of stuff you you believe in the supernatural? ghosts? spirits? hauntings? superstition? witches? what-have-yous?

I don't believe in the "Supernatural" actually. There are such things as witches, but they are simply people who practice witchraft and worship satan, not anything "paranormal" or whatever. There's no such a thing as "ghosts" but when people claim to see them or whatever, it's actually a demon, not a dead persons spirit. I don't believe in aliens, but there COULD be other people out there...

I do believe in the supernatural. I find there's no point to being a skeptic. It doesn't hurt me either way if my convictions are right or wrong. I've had some experiences with paranormal stuff.. nothing major... but enough to make me believe a little more

This one will make you guys think I'm a friggin weirdo, but it happened. I was at the Wendy's drive-thru about 3, 3 1/2 weeks ago. It was pretty late, probably coming on midnight. I was at the wheel and asked everyone else in the car what they wanted. All of a sudden, when I spoke, I got the strangest sensation, one that I had never had before. Suddenly, along with being myself, listening to myself speak, I was someone else in the car, listening to me speak. I actually had the sense that I was two beings. My awareness doubled for this 2 or 3 minutes that it happened, my hearing and vision became oversensatized, it was actually as if I was hearing, seeing, and being aware for two entities, myself, and who or whatever had "possessed" me.

upon further research into the matter, I found one "myth" that there are two different planes of existance, a spirit realm and the realm that we call reality. supposedly spirits can sometimes fall through the rift into our reality, and my friend has the theory that some spirit accidently did and fell into my body for about 2 minutes before it could get back to the spirit realm.

wow! that sounds like a bunch of hooey. but I experienced it, so I believe it. I certainly don't expect anyone else to. woah... that seriously sounds like a load of crap. oh well. I believe

I've also had some pretty freaky dealings with hauntings of dolls, this one also has ghosts involved... yes, it's true... I'll tell the story sometime. maybe tonight. if I feel like it

Are you on drugs?

As you can see, I don't believe in the paranormal and things like that. I'm Scully's character in The X-Files, not Mulder's. Everything has a scientific explanation to me. Even if we don't understand why or how something happens, I'm possitive a scientific explanation is just sitting there, waiting to be found.

I'm not,

I like history, and go to a lot of old forts, stuff like that. Tsss, nevermind, not telling. Let's just say I believe in the possibility.

I also agree with Oliver.

I can't believe in anything even close to supernatural. I believe in alien life, but not the abductions and *beep*.

So yeah...Supernatural stuff is very unbelievable. Which is why I don't believe in Religion, because some things in Religion is, indeed, supernatural.

Leave it to good old Theresa to vote against something.

Well, I don't mind people's view being different than mine. It's all fine by me if people believe in supernatural things, just like Triam_Paris' doubled awareness he described. If that's really what you feel, then it's fine by me and I'll accept it.

I don't believe in the supernatural, although there are always stories that are hard to dismiss.

I don't believe in any of that stuff. And demons don't exist, either.

I believe in One Almighty God, Angels and what is called "Jinn" or Spirits (where the word Genie is derived from), it was (and in the South still is) common belief among my Ancestors in the Philippines that Spirits liked to dwell in Woods, Springs, Watefalls etc and occasionally try and harass the People by bringing them bad luck, However like my Ancestors I believe that some of these Jinn have submitted to the will of God, Almighty who created them.

I believe in God and Jesus and the Christian faith. But, I also believe in Spiritualism and the spirit world and people who are clairvoyant, clairsensient and clairaudient. I just feel there has to be something that we can not explain and so many people have had similar experiences then it can't just be a coincidence.

ok, another example of my experiences with the supernatural.... (This is a good story, so read it all )

My sophomore year of high school, I was doing marching band as usual. every year in the "pit" (aux and mallet percussion) we have a different mascot. My friend Op got this video from her grandparents of these kids from Japan who called themselves the "Marimba Ponies". they were like... the most rockin' marimba (a warmer sounding version of the xylophone) and mallet players ever... I mean, these kids were like 9 and 10 years old, too.

So we got one of those kelly barbie dolls, the little girl ones, and found some old doll clothes of Op's that made the doll look like a Marimba Pony. We named her (get this) "Marimba Pony", and she was our official mascot of the year.

Our show that year was "Queen of Sheba" and up until state, we were doing awesome, we were so sure we could make the top three, at least. In the Pit, the four of us known as "The Angels" (me, Op, and our friends Nola and Ryan) had decided that it would be best to sacrifice Marimba Pony to the "pit gods" (yes, we're weird, but bear with me) the night before state competitions.

However, we had mercy on the doll and decided to keep her to ride in the marimba as we played that day. Well, prelim competitions were done and they were announcing the scores. Our band got ninth place. everyone was shocked, especially since all the previous season had put us into third place in state. ninth place meant no state finals, so we made our way sadly back to the truck.

Anyway... that was all just back story. the good stuff starts here...

Upon the beginning of loading the truck, we were all quite obviously pissed that we had gotten so badly ripped off. Marimba Pony rode the marimba still, smiling as usual (after all, she was a Barbie). This girl (who will only be known as The Nemesis) and I picked up MP, and pulled her apart, me with the head and the Nemesis with the body. Now, recall for a second these dolls. their heads are soft, and there is no pointy place on their body. As I held the head in my hand, pulling it apart from the body (we were angry, ok?) all of a sudden, I felt something pinch my finger, and put the head aside for a moment to look. MP had bit me! My finger was bleeding.

That day we took her to my house and along with the drum major, drum captain and several other members of the band, put MP (head and body) in a pot, filled it with everything flammable (incl firecrackers) and burned her, until she was only pieces of un identifiable plastic, and bagged her in Ziplock

Maybe a week later, Op, Nola, and I took MP's remains to Nola's property in the forest. It was dark, and we had a lantern, shovel and video camera to document. We had already picked out a burial site, an old abandoned/ wreked shack in the woods aways. There, under light of lantern, we buried her and said our goodbyes, hoping to be ridded forever...

(TBC, this is getting long)

I don't think that God is "supernatural" and I believe in him. The only "supernatural" thing I believe in is jynxing. Knock on wood

ok, since no one seems to care, I'll tell the rest of the story...

We had taken her clothes before the burning, and after the burial ritual, we creatied a scarecrow of sticks (Blair Witch-esque) to put her clothes on to mount the grave.

So Marimba Pony was dead and buried. gone. but in the deep recesses of our minds, we knew the ritual would never be complete unless Ryan joined us in a reburial ritual (making the Angels complete would complete the ritual).

a few months pass. Nola had been out to visit the burial grounds sometime earlier and had noted that the scarecrow was gone, but the grave itself untouched.

We finally got Ryan to come out with us and went back to the grave site in the same manner. Lantern and shovel, though this time we left the camera and took an extra flashlight. The grave had been covered over a little better by then with a few month's growth/ wind, etc. Still obviously untouched since we had completed the first ritual.

We dug up the grave and found MP piece by piece. An arm, a leg. the torso, another arm, another leg. But dig and search as we might, we couldn't find the head. anywhere. We found a small bone, it looked like some animal vertabret nearby, and tossed it in the grave, hoping that this bone would somehow compensate for the missing MP head.

Time lapse a few more months. Nola had gone out and walked by the grave again and noticed a small red and white stone on top of it (which she claimed represented the mixture of MP's innocence and death).

Time lapse again. Nola is walking out in the forest again and comes across... yes, the burnt and severed head of Marimba Pony sitting a top a small stump near the burial site. She Ziplocked it and brought it to school to show the rest of us.

Spurred by the new find of MP's head, I got out my video camera and watched the tape of that first night. Nothing seemed off, until I was panning the forest around the burial site. I saw something, a figure... no, two figures. I rewinded and paused. Yes, there in the darkness were the distinct figures of two little girls crouching by the entrance to the grave site, looking up at us as we completed the ritual.

I called for my brother to come and look and he confirmed what I saw. We played it again. One more time. Luckily, a few nights later was a party at Nola's house. We brought the tape along to show everyone. "oh, here it comes, watch closely!"

The part in the tape where the ghost girls had been was blue. deleted somehow. they had escaped...
****

and yes, MP still haunts us to this day. I have learned a very valuable lesson... even if the experiences were just coincidence or whatnot, never mess around with dolls!

maybe I'll update you later. the new pit paranormal expert claims we can be ridded of the curse. we'll see if that works out....

and yes. now everyone thinks I'm a freak. but ask Jesse. He was there for a lot of it too.

First off, I will say that I do believe in the supernatural. There are just too many things out there that cannot be explained away with science. I however do NOT believe in God in the Christian sense; I do believe that there is some driving force/energy that is inherit in all things, but not God. Its a long complicated story as to what I believe. (read the Celestine Prophecy, that is very close to my beliefs). I also don't believe in angels per se, but I do believe in spirits, and some happen to have wings.

As for what GoaM said: it just doesn't jibe with me. You say you don't believe in the supernatural, but you turn around and say that there are demons. Which are considered supernatural. Just as God is supernatural. (yes, Republican Man... def: 1- of or pertaining to existance outside the natural world...2-attributed to the immediate exercise of divine power, miraculous, 3- or or pertaining th the miraculous). And I beg to differ on the subject of witches being satanists. This is NOT true. Witches don't always worship Satan, as most witches do not believe in the Christian God, and thus no Satan either. Most witches practice Wicca which is basically put, worshipping nature and/or nature spirits/gods. Whereas Satanists do worship Satan (obviously) since they believe in the Christian God and reject him and worship the opposite of all that God is. I'm not trying to be mean here, just pointing out what I see as flaws in the arguement, as it was posted. I agree that you do have the right to believe what you believe, I am not disputing that at all. I just don't see what you are saying since, how you stated it is at odds.

Safe journeys,
Phade

Geeeh...Marimba Pony...I think we should get my granda to come and cleanse the site...Or some other Indian... :}. She is creepy. Just the stories you tell of her...and you forgot to say that as we were coming out of the stadium after prelims the marimba collapsed into five pieces, didn't it? Our mascot now is a banana. Does that mean we should sacrifice a banana the day before state? Eh? What'd'you think Sam?
