PostTue Sep 14, 2004 6:33 pm    Can you picture Denise Crosby as Troi?

As some of you may know, Denise Crosby originally auditioned for the role of Counsellor Troi.

And recently, I was thinking about how she would have played the role if she had got it. Now, I know that we watched Marina Sirtis in the role for seven years so we are used to her but, in all honesty, I actually think Denise could have made a good Troi.

I have seen Denise in quite a lot of stuff, including a role as a sexy uniformed cop who stalks a man in an installment of Red Shoe Diaries. She is quite a good actor and I think she would have done a good job as Troi.

Any thoughts, folks?

Sure, she could have made a good Troi, but then again, Marina Sirtis wouldn't have a chance to show her talent. So I think it's better they both pulled it off, although in different roles (duh!) and both could have their own characters to be recognised by. That's my opinion.

Talent? We barely ever see her do anything. I find the character Troy really hard to believe. She doesn't seem to be so relevant for a starship.

I think Marina Sirtis is a good actress but like Robsladey said, I don't think Troi is too believable. She's annoying too, like the way she works on the bridge, gets a comfy chair and everything and goes to work out of uniform.

You mean there was an episode where she was totally naked on the bridge?

I must have missed that one.

(Just kidding, I know what you mean)

I'm going to have to say that I cannot picture Denise Crosby as Troi. I like Denise Crosby as an actor, but she was better as Yar. I actually liked Troi's character. But to each his own I guess.

Regards,
JP
