Okay...I went to the midnight showing...and I totally liked this movie. Its not gore-scary or even that truely scary at all. But its kinda creepy. I don't want to give out too much of the plot too soon...but I thought I'd make a thread so people can talk about it.

Okay, well. They were scary until you actually saw their faces, which just ruined the whole thing. I mean, a boar? Sheesh. The hands and spikes were really really scary though.

I thought this movie was okay, nothing special. That retarded guy was really kinda mean though. Stabbing Lucy, and then seeming like he wanted to kill whatever her name was. And when she looked around the trunk and he was right behind her. Yikes. People were screaming in the theatre, it was mostly guys too, hmmm.

I haven't seen this movie yet, but I really want to. I've been wanting to see it ever since I saw the preview for it.

I had planned to see the movie because I like the director.

Unfortunately, on the way home from work, I heard two guys talking about the ending. And it totally ruined it for me.

I guess the moral of the story is this-if there's a movie which has a twist, which you're planning to see, don't go out in public where someone may inadvertently give away the ending.

yeah, I thought the twist was great. That's what made me like the movie...if it hadn't been for that I would've thought it too predictable.

I didn't like the movie. I too heard the twist right before I went in to see the movie. The movie was boring throughout the whole thing. The twist was dumb IMO. I felt like I was lied to. I did like the M. Night Shyamalan cameo though. Although that was the only thing that was interesting. It wasn't scary. If you hear the twist before you seet he movie then don't ven bother going to see it.

I do like Shyamalan but some directors go to the well once too often and can never equal, let alone surpass, their previous works.

The Sixth Sense was a good movie. I guessed the twist, it's a pretty obvious one. However, I don't think Shyamalan has been able to top that one.

What did people think of Signs?

* SPOILER REGARDING THE 2002 MOVIE, SIGNS. IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE MOVIE, PLEASE DO NOT READ ON *

Quote:
I found Signs to be a bit of a cop-out to be honest. There were some tense and scary moments in the movie. But I didn't much care for the ending. We never found out why the aliens were here, what was their purpose? I finished viewing the movie with a feeling of being unfullfilled.

And, this is just a personal thing, but I had incorrectly guessed the ending of the movie. I was watching it with a friend and I said to her, "You watch, the aliens are going to be revealed to be benevolent. It's going to be a film about man's distrust of anything that is different to him." I was wrong.

* END OF SPOILERS

Shyamalan is a unique director but his style of directing is not one that can be sustained over a dozen or so films. I really do think he has gone to the well once too often.
