I was watching the news the other day and it said that for one of his purple hearts he was shooting rounds into a lake and one of the bullets bounced off of a rock and hit him in the shoulder. Now i'm not sure on the credibility on that but I do not trust John Kerry at all and I believe he would manipulate the facts and make himself look more glamourous so he can come to power.

1. I have seen the ad several times.
2. It is NOT an ad by Bush, and one of the members of "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" said that if Bush told them to get it off the air, they wouldn't comply.
3. Swift Boat convoys are like squadrons. They are close together. I have seen several interviews with people in that organization, and one of them said that he was with Kerry for much time because he served in Kerry's same convoy, along with almost everyone else in that ad. He agreed with the ad, and some of what he said I disagreed with.
But did you know that the guy that Kerry saved (who fell in the water) was REALLY NOT a member of his swift boat, but a member of the Special Ops force, so of the ARMY. He was just on Kerry's boat for a few days, so to say that because the people in the ad didn't "serve on his boat" is not valid, but the people in that ad were in the convoy and served somewhat with him, so their perspective is valid. I say that it may not be right that they are attacking him like that, but they should speak their views and let us know somewhat of the truth about Kerry's war record, the ONLY thing he talks about--he skipped his Lieutenant Governor job and his 20 years in the Senate, you know.

Doesnt change the fact that the ad is a bunch of huey. People are just trying to attack Kerrys record, because Bush was such a *beep* in the texas national guard.

It's hard to say how truthful that ad was, or Kerry's ad are. They are both just propaganda.

While I haven't seen the ad, some guys from his crew did step forward and say that there were a lot of "embellishments" from Kerry. And other swift boat commanders have said that many things he said they did were physically impossible given the type of boat he commanded.
And you can lie to get a purple heart,  It's happened before, multitudes of times. You can accidentally discharge your own weapon, and say you were hit, though this is harder to do now w/ forensics as they are, but in Vietnam? Wouldn't have been too hard. (and that's only one example)
