Baghdad City Councilwoman Speaks at Breakfast (I was there!)

This morning I went to another Republican Breakfast, and today's guest speaker was a Baghdad City CouncilWOMAN.

First off, Denver has set up a sister-city relationship with Baghdad.
2nd, this is the woman's 2nd trip outside of Iraq.

Here are some things that she said, paraphrazed, of course:
-The American Media does not show what's really going on in Iraq
--She often has to call home to find out what's really going on there
-Although there are some Iraqis that don't like us being there, most Iraqis are VERY HAPPY that we are there
-The Iraqis are living MUCH BETTER LIVES
-They are starting to feel Democracy
--They LIKE having Democracy
-They are frustrated, but it is "in their nature to be frustrated" and they are getting happier and less frustrated
-Terrorists are killing IRAQIS, and that's something that's sturring up the Iraqi population
-People can speak out their mind and "quarrel" in the City Council without getting into trouble and being beaten by the Saddam Regime...

The moral: Things are much better in Iraq, the Iraqis are overwhelmingly happy to have us their and that we did what we did, and the US Media does NOT show what's really going on there.

Afterwards, a man who was told a story about her told us this:
During the Saddam Regime, her brother was being tracked by Saddam's forces for speaking out. In order to protect themselves, after his death they could NOT SPEAK OF HIM because if Saddam heard about it, they would ALL die.

Horrible, eh? Well, now things are better and that won't happen again.

So, they pretend to be nice to one another after Saddam? Means nothing. And no *beep* the media censors whats going on in Iraq. Too many stupid people would go nuts.
