PostSun Aug 15, 2004 12:14 am    Alien vs. Predator: POSSIBLE SPOILERS.

I just got home from AvP, and can safely say that the Human characters ruined that movie for me; I know they need them to have the story, but the characters in the movie were REALLY bad. The hero woman was COMPLETELY unbeleivable. And all of the archeology experts ect.., were really lame. They died in like 6 seconds, while some daminable small woman who didn't even like guns and was of an average physical build, was able to take all the punishment the Aliens could dish, without even chipping a nail...

This movie proved to me that clichs work. I think it would've been a ton better if the hero was just an Arnold Schwartzenegger knock off, heck I would've settled for a repeat of Danny Glover. I honestly don't beleive that this woman could even smash a spider on her own, let alone fight a huge monster thing. I don't care how much 'attitude' or 'sass' she has. Scenes where she was holding the spear and using the alien head as a shield literally made me laugh aloud in the theater (and I was not alone).

The fight scenes were great, minus the 'hero'. Some of the action was really intense, and beside the fact that a 5'7" 120lb woman easily vanquishes a huge alien; while the massive predator struggles, I was impressed.

Overall, I give the movie 6 smileys. (out of 10)

I never saw it. I still kinda want to. Is it worth seeing at the theaters?

Meh, I just saw this movie this evening...and IMO the village was better. This movie could've been great; but the plot was underdeveloped and there was not enough fighting and gore. It should've been rated R rather then PG13 that way more fighting and gore. The predator's kicked ass...and the aliens were pretty sweet...but the humans sucked. I agree.
Cliche's are fun.

(Spoilers ahead)
I just saw it today, and the humans really did suck. I shall now proceed to tell of my grumps about the movie.
I just couldn't find myself believing that any of them had even an inkling of the intelligence that they were credited for. First off, they called the underground structure a pyramid when clearly it was a ziggurat. Secondly, they split up. That is ALWAYS a bad idea. And third, when those guys found the weapons in the sarcophagus and the one guy told them not to take them, they did. LISTEN TO THE GUY!! This is obviously the one smart guy in the midst of a bunch of idiots. When those guys took the last weapon, they pretty much screwed the guys in the sacrificial chamber, along with pretty much just about everyone else.
I liked the one predator guy though. He was cool. A huge complaint I have is that that movie was far too dark. Not a bad thing for watching the actual movie, but as soon as the movie was over and I stepped out of the theater in broad, unshaded sunlight and was blinded for a few minutes. Eesh. But for the most part, it was a good movie. I also didn't like the fact that the lady said the "f" word that one time. Dude, that word is NOT supposed to be said in PG-13 movies and it shocked me when she did. That was just wrong! A minor grump I have was during the fighting scenes the camera view changed a tad too much and too fast. A lot of times, I had no idea what was going on.
Well, there you are. That is every single one of my grumps about AVP. The aliens and predators were very well done.

Right, I just now got back from seeing it and Predators are awesome! The movie was ok I guess but it got tons better when the Aliens and Predators started fighting each other, instead of killing the humans. Jeez, they all died like instantly! But then when the alien joins in the fight and, unfortunately, kills two predators by itself, it was awesome. The only reason the alien killed both predators is because they only had the weapons that alien acid blood would just melt through. At first I thought they were trying to make the predators seem weak or something but then I'm like, wait a second... where's the Plasmacaster? Predators are so awesome!

I think it's a lot better than what most people are saying. I hate seeing these negative reviews everywhere I try.

Well, hey. It was good. It was awesome. Those Predators ruled. My last post was just stating every single one of the things that I didn't like about it. It was a very well done movie though.
