What is this series about???

These aliens make a generation-spanning journey to earth as slaves aboard their mother ship. They land in California and enter the general population.
A Few years later is when the series really starts and a cop in teamed up with an alien cop.
Its really garbarge, the show I mean.
One part I do like is that the aliens dissolve when even they come in contact with salt water and milk makes them drunk.
