I am quite looking forward to The Punisher which is coming to the UK in July I believe.
I am a casual fan of the character from his many adventures in Marvel Comics. Despite being a gun-toting vigilante, the character has always had some depth and I have enjoyed seeing his adventures alongside Spider-Man, Captain America and Daredevil and against foes such as The Kingpin and Doctor Octopus.
Anyone here seen the 1989 Punisher movie where Dolph Lungdren played the role? Believe me, it's not as bad as they say. It translated the character to the screen well, it had plenty of action and shoot-outs and Dolph did a good job of playing the slighty deranged Vietnam veteran.
I wonder if the new film has The Punisher as a Vietnam vet. That useless 'Nam war has been over for nearly twenty years so I wonder if the new movie has him as a veteran of a more recent conflict.
Anyway, I look forward to the movie. Do any of you?

I've seen this movie a few weeks ago. I must be honest, I wasn't planning to see this one; the one I wanted to see was sold out.
Anyway, I had no idea that there's a comic story about The Punisher nor that Dolph Lungdren played The Punisher in an earlier movie.
The critics here in Belgium didn't like the movie at all, too much violence they said. To me, it was okay. It wasn't great but wasn't bad either.
P.S.: That Russian character was over the top if you ask me...
