Bloody Tears

Epitomy of pain, indulgence of death,
A sweeping wind whips across the fields of red.
Grass once green, eyes once virgin
To the hordes of their fellow men, dead.

The severed and the gutted, the slain and the dyeing,
Crying out for nonexistent relent.
Listless eyes are covered by curtains of flesh,
Before they are blown away by savage intent.

Justice cries, angels vomit,
As an orgy of sadism dominates the land.
Discarded forms of bodies, deformed beyond recognition,
The result of the callous command.

And while the onslaught ensues at a blistering tempo,
A flag rises far beyond the valley of gore.
A young boy salutes with a heart of honor
To what he'll someday be fighting for.
