PostWed Jun 16, 2004 5:54 am    Hope for the best for my Charlie

Ok, a few months ago, he found out he had a tumor behind his left eye. His army eye doctor said he don't see in operating cause he might use some of his eye sight cause the surgery is so intense. Charlie went bacl yesterday and told the dr. that he would have to do surgery and the dr. still refuses. Charlie has been having alot of headaches, and tired most of the time. The dr. order another cat scan to make sure the tumor is not growing. Just hope for the best for him and those who are religious pray for him. He is my sweety and I could not imagine my life without him.

He is still going to Iraq in Oct. He will have to face many trials in life now.
God Bless,
Deb

Sometimes bad things happen to good people, but thats life, so youll have to try your best to accept it. And since im not religious, my best wishes and sincerest hopes will have to suffice.

But on the bright side, if he indeed has to go for surgery, perhaps they wont send him to Iraq.

Thanks. I am worried about him but I know somehow he will be alright I hope. Maybe they will do something to get that tumor out. What kind of quake doctor would let a tumor stay anyway? I rather for him to lose some sight than to die of a tumor. Maybe I am just freaking out.

Freaking out is totaly natural. And if that doctor didn't want to take it out yet , maybe it isn't so dangerous...
We don't have star trek technology yet... but the technology has advanced so much over the past decade. He'll probably be alright

You know what? Theres no probably about it. He WILL be alright. You have to stay strong, and believe 100% that everything will be ok, and then there is no other possibility! He will be ok.

Ohh, I'm really sorry to hear about that. They are still going to make him go? Isn't there like something that stopes someone from going anywhere in the military if they are diagnosted with anything that will keep them from performing to the best of their ability?

Thanks Defiant and you all. you are right, I need to stay strong. It won't hurt his ability to be in the army. Now if he was just trying to join maybe.
Long as he don't go completely blind. Then the army will give an medical discharge.

Never a problem.

My friend just got a medical discharge from the Air Force. It kinda sucks that you dont get to do something that you want to, but its good in other ways too.

My thoughts are with you.

What he is going through puts things into perspective. I am the first to complain when I am short of money or some inanimate object breaks but I should appreciate that there are people in life with health worries.

I hope that everything turns out well for you and him.

Not really. He is proud to be in the army. He loves America. not completely eye problem just a tumor that is behind his left eye which makes his left eye swells up. But he get through it, I know it.
