Downtime & Server Status

The server was down for most of the day on June 7th. I was trying to fix an error remotely, and it turns out that the error prevented the server from rebooting completely. I had to have someone locally fix it so that it would reboot completely.

Now ... on to bad news. The error I was trying to check/fix is the hard drive. I suppose after 3-4 years of constant use, it's bound to break and as of now, it's on its last limb. I will order a replacement tonight, and drive 3 hours to the server to pop in the new HD. When I do this, there will be a 5 hour downtime to reinstall everything.

Until I can replace the HD, I will be doing 2-3 backups a day for about a week. If there are brief server outages, it's probably me backing the database up so we don't lose everything.
