Do any of you have any cool ideas for a new Star Trek series?
What would the plot be?
Where are they?
What time period?
Who are some of the crew?
Those are just some of the necessary questions to be posted.
Please give your ideas!

I, myself, would like to see something with a timeship, and they revisit other stuff. They could also occasionally bring back people from some other series. But I dont think that would be too popular or work that good.

I know that this would not sound too original but what about a series (the ship I don't think is extremely important, but important nonetheless) that revisits many of the things, or loose ends, we have seen. Examples of this include things like the Dyson Sphere in TNG, or the thing that the Enterprise gave birth to, or a time travel episode on Earth that involves the Voth. After spanning 5 series (6 if you include the animated series, and more if the movies are included as well) there are lots of loose ends, and complimentary stories to be examined. Don't get me wrong, not every episode would have to be like this, original new material should definitely be included, but it would be nice to see how some of the old storylines turned out. In addition to this the show would not have to be explicitly linear, some episodes could take place pre or post Dominion War as well as after Voyager returned home. What do you think?

I'm thinking a huge disaster. Like...An explosion in some star, that devastates entire systems.
This disaster could have been created inentionally by the Romulans, Cardassians or some new alien race.
New ship, Akira, maybe? New crew. And I think in the senior crew they should have a more uncommon species, like an Andorian.
That's my vision

I think the most obvious would be a new ship-based, Alpha Quadrant show, post-Voyager.
They could recruit a new cast, or use characters from TNG/DS9/Voyager, or a combination.
I'd like to see Riker as a Captain.
We definitely need to see more of Ezri, she only got one season but she's one of my favorite characters.

I think a series based on the Academy would be interesting. Would bring in lots of new, fresh blood, as well as have the possability to use old characters as guest stars, professors, and the like.

How about this: The Titan, under the command of Captain William T. Riker investigates things and new wormholes are discovered to all quadrants...Dominion remnants are involved as enemies, and crew from TNG/Voy/DS9 together would be good.
These are all good ideas, though.

You cant bring three crews together! There are too many characters to focus on and so it just wouldn't be as good.

I don't mean 3 entire crews, just PARTS of the crew...

Hmmm, parts of the crew, I don't like that idea. If it's gonna be a new Trek series, then there should be new characters... Like it's always been.

Perhaps, however, with Riker and Troi and ONE character from Voyager--this would be on the Titan. Perhaps Harry Kim or the Doctor...

I'm thinking completly new design of ship where the nacelles are no longer in their usual positions, based 200 years in picards future, new crew, new captain and the federation is in a state of turmoil due to a new species wiping most of the federation out. The Borg are now allied to the federation and a new galaxy has been introduced because the Alpha, Beta, Delta and Gamma quadrants have all been explored.
As for the rest i'll let your imaginations run wild.

I like the idea of drawing on the most interesting characters from the previous series, as long as at least a third to half of the new ship's crew are new.

There aren't that many positions on the ship that usually get followed though. You're only talking a cast of usually around 10.

I'm reluctant to post my choices because they would be so far from Roddenberry's original vision.
Basically, I'd like to see another point of view for a Trek show from one of the following races.
1) The Klingons
Plenty of battles each week and a chance to learn even more than we already know about them. But it wouldn't be an exploration show like every good Trek show should be (with the exception of DS9, great show). It'd me more of a military show.
2) The Romulans
I find these a very interesting race indeed. I'd love to see much more of them, I can never get enough of The Romulans.
3) The Vulcans
Ditto.
The Starfleet Academy idea would make a good mini-series, rather than a series in my opinion.
And, if it were up to me, I'd love to see the beautiful Janeway back on TV in a new Trek show.

A new series should definitly be post Voyager (and post Nemesis ), as previous series left enough open ends to fix/complete/further in a comming series.
Also I think (sometimes) Enterprise's writers are a lil' weak; using species (like the Borg and Ferengi episodes) while it was already made ever so clear that 'real' first contact was made a few hundred years after that in the other series. Oh, and not even starting bout Xindi (good story line tho! It saved Enterprise )... Situating a series post Voyager would certainly 'help' the writers as they would have more freedom.
Plot wise there are several (good) ways to further the story...
1. Gamma Quadrant Exploration would be a pretty easy one (writers like to 'make' new species don't they?). Post-Dominion chaos with rising new powers, a weak neo dominion, a federation fleet of ships, opinions chlashing (like: Should we even be here? Can Gamma Quadrant species join the Federation? Is what we doing really 'helping' the helpless or are we doing this for our selfs?). As in ST tradition this would bring in RL issue's in a scifi flavour (*cough* Iraq).
2. There are also several 'major' powers near the Federation that have only been shown very *beep* before (Tholians/Sheliak/Tzenkethi), a story arc including them would be very interesting in my opinion (certainly since the Tholians were still a power in the Cold War).
3. A starship with Federation 'Infantry' (talked about in most shows, but never really shown) would also open up some new ground not explored before. It's there, now we could get to see it.
4. As said before; Starfleet Academy. Although I'm not really in favor of a series I have to admit it would provide a unique view of the federation. It'd attract THE audiance tv stations want these days (16-30, decent saleries). It would be in dangerous however of turning into a teenage soap opera very quickly with all these young cadets running around.
