I think they are one of those characters that are good but rarely mentioned.

Miles was mentioned quite a lot actually. I liked him a lot, but I did not like Keiko too much. She acts too submissive towards Miles (she acted too much like a 'housewife'.).

I completely disagree with you Marshall. I found that Keiko cracked the whip with Miles quite often. And when she did Miles came a - running!! I remember she always yelled "Miles Edward O'Brien!!" It was kinda funny.

^Well, I just made that observation on what I've seen so far. I have only seen the first season of DS9 so far, .

I liked them both. They were a real family.

What I liked is that both Miles and Keiko came from the Enterprise from TNG and went to the DS9 station. The writers were consistent.

I always thought Molly was cute and annoying at the same time. (not really about the couple mentioned...but she was one of their offspring.)

Keiko annoyed me, except in 'The Assignment'

It was nice to see an enlisted man in Star Trek as a regular. Previously, one would have thought that Star Trek is only comprised of officers, which is far from the truth. And the Irish aspect was also pretty cool. As for Keiko, she had her good and bad moments, but when it comes to overall being good or bad for the show, it's probably neither.
