Does anyone know that show were he played a cop back in the 70s? It was like the show CHIPS except William Shatner was on it.

Yeah, that's it. Shatner played Sgt. T.J. Hooker. The other actors were: Adrian Zmed as Off. Vince Romano, Heather Locklear as Off. Stacy Sheridan (we know her best as Amanda Woodward from Melrose Place), James Darren as Off. Jim Corrigan (the actor who plays Vic Fontaine in five Deep Space Nine episodes; he too played in Melrose Place), Richard Herd as Capt. Dennis Sheridan, Lee Bryant as Fran Hooker & April Clough as Vicki Taylor.

Shatner also played in a TV movie called Blood Sport. This was actually a spin-off of T.J. Hooker.

The series lasted for five season '82-'86. So it's the 80's, not the 70's.
