Do we exist?
Do others exist?
Are we the only one's here?
Does God exist?
Did Gene Roddenberry exist? (A joke)
Let's take this discussion to contemplate existence.
Keep it on task, please.

No, we do not exist. Atoms exist. We are really nothing. Our mass is just some protons floating around and our form is the electrons. You never actually touch anything. You have never touched anything or felt anything in your life, it is just eletrons repelling electrons, but these electrons never actually touch eachother, therefore you have never touched anything, which means you have never felt anything, and you do not exists........ This atoms that are you have been around for millions and millions of years.... They just formed to become you.

Do I exist: Yes, I very definitely do, though sometimes I feel incredibly disconnected from reality
Do others exits: Wellsometimes I could swear Im all alone here Kidding, kiddingI think so, yeahIve met two or three real people over the years.
Does God exist: Oh, yes. That is something I feel very truly. He most certainly does.
Are we the only ones that exist: Nah. There has to be aliens out there somewhere.
Does Gene Roddenberry exist: He might be gone now, but Im sure as heck glad he was here at one time!

Do I exist? No. We are merely atoms.
Do others exist? No, I'm alone in this universe.

Do we exist? Depends on how you view it really.
Do others exist? Once again, it depends.
Are we the only one's here? I don't think so.
Does God exist? No. Neither does any divine things.
Did Gene Roddenberry exist? Hmm...This is the most interesting question of all...I need some time to think about this one.

Yes, God does exist. If he did not exist, we would not be here. Take a look at my signature and that's all the evidence I need.

Do we exist? In one sense, yes - you have a sense of self, do you not? In another, not really - like Val and 4evajaneway said, we are a bunch of atoms and cells.
Do others exist? See above question - it's basically the same thing.
Are we the only ones here? No. We cannot be so egotistic as to think we are the only ones in existence.
Does God exist? He exists in the minds of the religious. Does he physically exist? Possibly, but it's never been proven.
Did Gene Roddenberry exist? I'm not even going to answer that one.

Are we the only one's here? No. The Vulcans are coming

woohoo! Existentialism. How exciting...
Well, I don't know if I've made up my mind on whether existence preceeds essence or essence preceeds existence (I think therefore I am). Like... a rock doesn't think... therefore if essence preceeds existence, that rock doesn't exist... and it makes more sense that existence preceeds essence because than the rock can still exist without having to think. But then again, I don't think I existed as a fetus or something a long time before I started to think, so I, unlike the rock proved existence before essence.
Crazy existentialists. But I think I agree with thm more than the crazy guy... I can't remember his name... who came up with I think therefore I am.
But then again, do I exist in the world as myself without the conscious and unconscious thoughts and mind that make me me? I have to think therefore I am, right? Its all so cool to think about...
Do others exist? I also don't know. To me they could be a dream. To them, I could be a dream. Nothing really seems real in that way. But then again, it's others that make my existence possible... as... who was it, Marcel? Yeah, Marcel the existentialist said that it is Living for Others that makes us exist. As they say in Waking Life, though. once you can see and fully accept that you are but a character in someone elses dream, that is true self awareness.
Does God exist? Couldn't tell you. I'd like to believe He does... at least thats what my beliefs teach me. But I can't be sure. It's faith. I could always be a Neitsche and a nihilist and say no... which sometimes makes sense, but I prefer Kierkengaard- that the highest level of existence is to live for the God that does exist, and be perfectly willing to sacrifice yourself to Him. But I don't know either
Existentialism is so cool... nice subject, Rep Man
I couldn't vote though... how about a topic for those who are lost in an existentialist void?

An interesting discussion...
And just to spice it up a bit:
If God doesn't exist, then how did the Big Bang occur? What was here before the Universes came into existence?

How did the Big Bang occur? Not quite sure; I wasn't there.
What was here before the universes came into existence? Uh . . . nothingness? Seriously, I have no clue.

Ok, my dumb ol theory:
The universe will expand until it reaches a point, then it will all condense into one pount with infinitly large mass...at that exact point, the mass is to great, and then the big bang will occur, and this will happen for infinity, like a cycle.

That is an interesting theory. And of course, we probably will never know about the Universes.
But truly, how can there be nothingness? I don't think there can be.

Call me crazy or wrong or whatever, but I think nothingness is when everything is gone and there's no one to pick up the pieces. Sentimental riffraff, I know.

Classic response: I think therefore I am. Yes, I exist.
Others act independently of my consciousness, yes 'others' exist.
To believe that in an infinite universe, we are the only ones who exist has got to be on of the greatest examples of pride and ego. We are not the only ones "here".
Don't know about god but there must be something that pushed the first domino.
Hell yeah, Roddenberry existed and still exists (alternate timelines and all that).

We exist so far as in how perceive the universe and its relation to us. Our reality is based on historical sequence of mass consciencness based on events and child rearing based on materialistic needs.

But truly, how can there be nothingness? I don't think there can be. | I think nothingness is something the human mind cannot percieve, or even imagine.

Do we exist? Id like to think that we exist i mean we have self awareness and consciosness(sorry cant spell) but then we are just a bundle of atoms.
Do others exist? Yes same as above
Are we the only one's here? I doubt we are the only ones in the universe
Does God exist? He may not exist physsically but he may live by the soul of religous people (im not religious myself)
Did Gene Roddenberry exist? Of course he existed where would trek be without him

Well, for all we know, the universe or world doesn't even exist... so it could have been created in an entirely different way. The MIB movies are not supposed to be smart like that, but they pose a good point... the galaxy is in Orion's belt

I agree, Dappet...Well, I can't even possibly begin to picture nothingness, but seriously, how can there be no God and yet nothing?
Although it made me think, I don't agree with MIB...However, that could be what happened...

Yeah, well your going to get down to the god vs science question.
The thing that annoys me about some people is that they may 100% believe in the god theory, but also 100% disregard the science because they don't understand it.
We do exist, but we are all only (very complex) set of structured molecules and atoms. Do other (aliens?) exist? I don't know.
