This story takes place circa 1600's with the voyager crew and some other star trek characters.


"Come on Captain tell us a story," said Naomi Wildman as she jumped on the couch in the Captain's ready room. "Alright calm down," said Captain Janeway.. Naomi and the Borg children crowded around Captain Janeway and waited to hear the story, which was now her responsibility since Nelix was away being an ambassador. �Okay here we go, once upon a time...

�Princess Kathryn, your father wishes to speak with you in his private chambers,� said the young dark haired servant. �Thank you Harry, tell him I will be only a moment,� said Kathryn who was pulling her hair into a beautiful up do. She finished her hair and started down the long winding stair of the tower that was her room.

As she approached her father�s study the guards outside stood at attention. She walked up and knocked on the huge wooden door. �Enter,� said a deep booming voice. �Father, you wished to speak with me,� said Kathryn. �Yes, about your marriage,� said her father. �Father I told you I don�t want to have an arranged marriage,� said Kathryn boldly. �Kathryn, you will have an arranged marriage, your future husband is arriving in two weeks and you are to have accepted the fact I am your father and I know what�s best for you and be ready to meet him,� said her father. �I hate you,� shouted Kathryn. She ran out of his study and back up to her room. �I hate it here, I�m going to run away and live as a peasant,� mumbled Kathryn. She grabbed her journal and favorite pen and stormed back down the stairs. �Kathryn, where are you going,� her father shouted. Kathryn continued running down the seemingly endless corridor. �Guards, stop her,� he shouted. Three motionless guards sprang to life and grabbed the runaway princess. �Let me go,� shouted Kathryn. She tried to hit the guard but it didn�t faze him. �Lock her in her room,� said her father. �No,� screamed Kathryn. They carried Kathryn to her room and locked the door. She pounded on the door for a while before collapsing on her bed in tears. �I hate it here,� she cried. Suddenly she had an idea. Kathryn stood up and began pulling the sheets off her bed and tying them together. She tied the end to her bedpost and tossed the sheets out the window. She tugged on it to make sure it was secure and climbed out the window.

�Captain, I finished the warp core diagnostic,� said B�Elanna as she walked into the ready room, �oh, sorry, didn�t mean to interrupt your story.� �It�s okay,� said Captain Janeway. �Hey B�Elanna, stay and hear the story,� said Naomi. �Well, okay,� said B�Elanna. �Well, when we left off the princess was climbing out of her tower�

Kathryn climbed down the sheet rope. When she reached the bottom she took of towards the hole in the stonewall that surrounded the castle. She slipped through the hole and started down the beaten dirt path that lead to the nearest village. Soon she was in the village.

This is very intresting. It shows both the realism of Captain Janeway as a caring woman (who would give up her time to tell a story to a child or two) and that fact that she is till a Starfleet captain. I hope this is not the complate ending if it. I would love to read mroe about it in the future.
