Probably in 150 years or so, humanity will start becoming Borg-like. What I mean by this is that we will gain technology that will enhance ourselves through neural-implants. This will be necessary to keep up with the speed and intelligence of Artificial Intellegence. Humans will be born outside of bodies, much like in Brave New World To accomadate for larger brains. This is sad, and all we can do is hope it wont come to pass.

Thing is, I doubt many people would want that to happen to them. If it's a matrix like thing, that is even more far fetched. Almost impossible.

But you are wrong. Times change. Eventually with our rapid, exponential technological devolopment, it will be necessary. Someone is bound to experiment with it, unless we have a world Totalitarian Order. People will shun the creations, but eventually it will seep into society. Things happening that way have happened in history.
