I'm pretty sure I had my own thread sometime back in 2004, but yea, it seems to be gone, so I start a new one

So yeah...something about me...
My name's Kristine, I'm 19 years old (my nickname is probably misleading there, but in the days I came up with it I was actually aound 13 (okay, it was 2 days before my 13th birthday and I was completely proud of finally being a teenager)), and live in Belgium. And it's really just living, nothing else, because I actually study in the Netherlands. So yeah, I live right at the border, it's quite funny, the Netherlands begin behind our fence in the garden. I moved here half a year ago because naturally, I wanted to go to university after I was done with school. I actually grew up in Germany and didn't speak much Dutch til this summer, but now I'm more or less fluent (had to take an intensive summer course in Dutch).
I enjoy TV (duh!), languages, hanging out with friends and of course partying.

So yeah, that's something about me, and now chat away with me people

Hi Kristine. Wow, yours is definitely a very interesting life, spent in different and awesome European countries. I've never been to Belgium (several years ago, whilst attending my last college year, I met a girl who was from Belgium, even though she was of Italian origin because of her mum; she spoke Italian pretty well, and French too, of course. Instead she spoke very little Dutch and no German at all), and I visited The Netherlands just once (well, if you can call it that: I've actually visited the Amsterdam airport as pending passenger before boarding on the plane to the U.S.).
Forgive me if I sound nosy, but, what do you study? You said that you are attending university, and so I think it'd be interesting if you told us about your studies.
Bis bald.

I study Psychology. Which is very though to get into in Germany. I've heard from Americans before that for them this is more of a study you do when you don't really come up woth anything else. Well, in Germany it's completely different. We have the so called Numerus Clausus which means we need to get a certain grade average to study certain things. The best NC you can get is 1,0 the worst would theoretically be 6,0 as 6 is the worst grade, but of course with that grade you can't graduate, so I think the worst passing NC you can get is about 4,0. For Psychology this year it was 1,3 , my actual NC though was 2,5. But since I really wanted to do psychology I decided to go abroad, to our neighbours in the Netherlands. Here they don't have an NC, which is nice. Of course there was another challenge here instead, allthe Germans that came here had to learn Dutch. They gave us 6 weeks for that and everyone just hoped they would make it. I was one of the lucky ones who did
And I really do enjoy my study. I mean, I'm not one of those students that study all day and never have fun, but when I think what alternative study choices I could have made, I'm really glad I picked Psychology.
