Who would you prefer as captain, or if you like Archer, why? I think T'Pol would be better, but a friend and I were having this discussion and he reasonably pointed out that that would be incredibly boring.

I think Archer is okay. I like him and he is a good captain... Friendly to his crew, but also insisting on his orders... I like him very much

when i first watched enterprise, i tended to think archer was a wimp. the first episode he was shot with a phaser (stun setting, i'm sure) and made a moan and groan as if he was dying. his fighting throughout along with his aim when using a phaser was pitaful. but then again i was used to watchin tos, tng, and voy with trained fighting officers. overall, i do like archer. he has a certain.. attractive appeal to him

I didn't like Archer at first but he's getting better. I can take or leave ENT at the moment

I think the new approach to the show sounds very promising. I read the other day though that Enterprise is one of Paramount's strongest shows. It has however lost 2/3rds of the Trek audience when compared with TNG.

If it is one of Paramount's strongest shows I don't see them cancelling it or else they risk losing the ENTIRE market. And if Enterprise ratings are down and its one of their highest, i wonder what the ratings are like for the rest of their shows...

The only cardboard cutout on this show that has shown any sign of competency at commanding a ship has to be Trip in my opinion. Archer is too whiney to captain the ship, and shows little respect for anything other than his dog

Archer is a bit heartless as well...

In "Shockwave" when all those colonists are killed he isn't too bothered. All he's worried about is clearing his name!

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that one. That was a bit mean of him. Trip or T'Pol should take over the ship

Trip probably because if T'Pol took over then the Vulcans would take over from there and that's never good.... Not in that century, anyhow.

what do you mean he isnt too bothered? the man was heartbroken, he just wanted an explenation, and ones he knew they werent responsable he wanted to prove their innocence, otherwise the whole space exploration program would have been cancelled.
