Definitely won't effect me, but I have been close a couple times to coming in to a tornado. One was at a camp, lol it was kinda cool like a movie! Everyone was running for the main barn. You could see the clouds, there was like a small swirling, and just before a tornado formed another bunch of clouds came by and just cancelled it out so to speak. The other was just at my own home, it was very dark out, and the wind was quite huge. Many tornado warnings. One touched down outside my town (which is very small...damn St. Thomas! lol) anywayz, i've always wanted to see a tornado! it would be cool!

When that hurricane made landfall I was out of the country.
But I have been in some hurricanes before.
Well a small one, it was barely a hurricane. It didn't really affect my area a lot , I went out in the rain, just so I could say I was in a hurricane. I came in soaked.

I've had the unique experience of being in both.
Galveston had a tropical storm hit it late last year. Though it was nothing like Allison, the previous year, nor anything to the magnitude of the hurricane in 1901, it was fun. I got out of classes and drove the seawall while the torrent of rain poured over the streets and blinded vision to a ten feet radius. Fun!
In Lawton, back in 2001, we had a huge storm hit. I was taking my girlfriend at the time home, following her in my car when it started. We took a left at 38th and Cache, though the rain and wind cause a near zero visibility problem, I made sure I was very close to her on the way back. She eventually careened off the road and I parked my car in front of hers as if to protect her just in case of something happening. It turned out that not even half a mile up the road, where we had taken the left on 38th street, a tornado hit the place where I worked at, and demolished the back storage room.
WOW!
