Within the next week, STV will open an Off-Topic, post restricted area. It remains to be seen how well it will work out, and could bring controversy because it is a restricted to veteran users.

The *initial* hopes and goals for this, as requested, is to provide a stricter posting environment. By stricter, I mean less spam, less idle conversation, remaining on topic, less flames and insults, and to weed out trouble users, ect. By having such a place, it allows for the rest of the forum to remain as they are, instead of increasing moderation and being stricter throughout the forums. Because this area is stricter, some users simply may not want to post there, and that is perfectly ok. There is still the Chit Chat forum, that serves the same purpose, but less strict. Hopefully, this forum will satisfy users that complain about mods being too strict, and those users that want a stricter posting environment.

This restricted area is NOT to promote elitism between members. It's an area that basically has the user making the request to join say, "I REALLY, REALLY understand the rules, and you don't have to be lenient on me, or give me 100 'second chances'." There are no age restrictions, no post count criteria.
