|
Has anybody bought the new Enterprise novel "The Expanse". Apparently it's the novelisation of the episodes "The Expanse" (cunningly ) and "The Xindi". I've ordered mine, hopefully it'll come tomorrow.
I just wondered if anyone else had it and if they do, is it any good?
I'm quite looking forward to reading this one despite the dissapointment that was "Surak's Soul"...Good first time round but limited re-readability IMO.

Woohoo! It arrived. It's pretty good and goes into more depth than the other 2-part novelisations...again though, I was surprised at it's thickness; still a little thin...
Surprisingly, it's not a hardback nor a standard paperback. It's the size of a hardback but in paperback lol. Quite a bit bigger than normal...
The front cover is good though; rare that we get a Trek book cover composed entirely of CGI...pretty impressive though.
We were visiting relatives today so I was reading it while we were travelling. The first half "The Expanse" was really good but "The Xindi" half seems a bit slow to get going. Still, I'm on page 182/247 which isn't bad considering I only got it this morning lol. Maybe I'll stay up late; see if I can't finish it off lol.

Well I did finish it last night. It's alright, still not ground-breaking though I don't think. The first half was really good, I preferred it to th episode in many ways (there were alot more "deleted scenes" in it than "The Xindi" half)...the second half was pretty much identical to the episode though...
I'd give it 7/10
I'm assuming nobody else has it lol.
