I think that his hatred started in a Next Gen ep but I'm not sure, I am only now watchin DS9 and his hatred is obvious but why?

He fought in the war against the Cardies when the had the occupation on Bajor. Thats all I know. It explains it in one of the earlies episodes on TNG but Its been so long since I've watched it

Next gen ep that explains it was called "The wounded"  He uh fought against them on some outpost when there was a war.......or skirmish thingy between the federation and them...........
Like he said in there,roughly quoted ,to one of them "i dont hate you,cardassian.I hate what ive become,because of you" because in that war,he had to kill,for the first time.He had never killed anyone,not even anything,before that.It changed him profoundly,scarred him.And of course he saw what happened to those taken P.O.W...the "lucky" ones who made it back after that..........
Not to mention he got pretty bashed around by them in Tribunal,enough to make a guy cranky for life
