Did anybody see the news yesterday? (BBC News 24)

There was an article regarding Tony Blair visiting Iraq. In this article I saw Tony visiting and congratulating the troops still situated in Iraq. Then I saw him visiting a primary school full of very happy children. Of course they have every reason to be happy now, don’t they (rhetorical, don’t bother answering).

The point of this message though, is to bring attention to a scene where Tony picked up a five-year-old boy in his arms. This boy gave the priminister a kiss on the cheek. This scene was different. Never seen anything like it. But it was wonderful to say the least.

Any thoughts?

I didn't see the whole article, but I saw the clip both on the news (6pm news) and on Have I got News for You (brill show if there ever was one...).

I think the boy was acting on the words of parents trying to make a good impression, and was too young to know too much about politics. He would of course know who killed all his fellow Iraqis. Why did the prime minister pick the poor kid up anyway? Did he not pick up a child before during an election campaingn and one of the childs parents came and grabbed it off him? That was funny. Or was it John Prescot or David Blunkett? I'm not sure...

One of the best things about Have I Got News For You is that it's NOTHING like anything else. It's more whether you'd understand it Just like we can't always understand your programs.
